Break out your rollerskis!
With record-setting late-season skiing on the Birkie Trail in April in to early May, and the Hayward area receiving 16" inches of snow on May 1st, we thought we just might not need to break out our rollerskis... But, yes the snow has finally melted, and many dedicated skiers have taken their late-season skiing bliss right out on the road. Remember, skiers are made in the summer! Even if you're not into "training," rollerskiing helps you maintain overall fitness and specific, ski-related strength and aerobic conditioning. |

| One does not need specific goals or a training program to ENJOY and benefit from rollerskiing. If you’re thinking of adding rollerskiing to your Nordic repertoire and not sure where to start, check out our Rollerskiing 101 info on our website or sign up for a lesson. New Moon is proud to handle American-made V2 brand rollerskis. Based in New Hampshire, V2 has long been the choice of many World Cup and Olympic racers. In fact, many pro athletes have passed on sponsorship contracts with various European rollerski brands because they prefer V2. V2 was also the rollerski of choice for Carolyn and Santi Ocariz when they rollerskied coast to coast last year for their Ski Across America project.
V2 has a ski for everyone – the Aero XL150S Skate for gravel and poor pavement, the light and efficient 98XLR Skate, the 900XLC Classic for a near-perfect "snow" feel, and more. A range of accessories is also available for V2 including brakes and speed reducers to help you ski safely and more confidently. We're glad to help you find the rollerski that's right for you. |
In addition, Alpina rollerskiing boots are now in stock at New Moon! These are breathable, summer weight, fully supportive, top level boots endorsed and used by Nordic athletes world-wide. Rollerskiing can be rough on your insulated Nordic boots - stop sweating and take these Alpinas for a roll this summer! |
