  • August 18th - 19th:  Assistant Workshop in Corvallis at Corvallis Montessori School
  • August 25th:  Assistant Workshop in Portland
  • October 18th:  OMA Fall Workshop for All School Staff, 9am - 4pm 
    • Two Morning Breakout Sessions:
    • Afternoon Session:  Working with Volunteers in the 21st Century (for all school staff).
    • Both Morning and Afternoon Sessions will be three hours in length, with an hour for lunch.  Training hours will be provided.
  • January 16th - 18th:  Lectures and Workshops with Michael Gurian and Betsy Hoke of the Gurian Institute in Spokane, Washington
    • January 16th:  "The Minds of Boys and Girls" - General Public Lecture by Michael Gurian, 6 - 8pm (Portland)    
    • January 17th:  "Nurture the Nature" - Michael Gurian, Key Note, and Betsy Hoke, Workshop for Educators, 9 - 4 , (Portland)    
    • January 18th:  Betsy Hoke, Daylong Workshop 9 - 4 (Eugene)   
    • Professional development hours for all events will be provided. 
  • February 27th:  Montessori in the Capitol (Glass Classroom in the Galleria of the Capitol Building and other fun activities to promote Montessori awareness)  Click here for more information. 
  •  April 18th:  Spring Tea and Workshop, 9am - 3pm  
    • "Professional Leadership and Advocacy in a New Era of Early Childhood Education" presented by Christyn Dundorf, Ph.D. and Oregon Registry Master Trainer.  Open to all school staff.  Set 3 Training in Personal, Professional, & Leadership Development.   
    • Socialize with, and honor the achievements of, your colleagues at the Spring Tea in the afternoon.  The tradition of annual awards will continue!  Be thinking of nominees as the school year begins.

On June 14th, 2014 the OMA Board met for its annual retreat at the beautiful home of Board Member, Jeanne VanDeReit.  As you can see, we all enjoyed the comaradare of being together and working together to plan for OMA's future.

Laura Pilkington will continue in her role as part-time Executive Director, working 15 hours a week for 45 weeks per year.  She is very much looking forward to continuing to serve and support the diverse and committed regional Montessori community!
