As I've studied for the message this weekend from Isaiah, chapter 55, I've been overwhelmed by God's desire for all of us to know Him and receive from Him the gift of salvation and eternal life. A gracious invitation to come to Him is given, and a response is required. We'll be focusing on verses 6-7, which clearly describes the response needed-repentance. What is repentance? What role does it play in salvation? What is its significance in the life of a believer? I'm looking forward to opening the Word of God together this weekend. "As the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth...so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire..." Isaiah 55:10-11

 

I want to encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities to grow in your faith. There are several options that begin in September: Ladies Studies, a Men's Study, and several Adult Classes. Please stop by the Café and Connections Center hallway for information and sign-ups.

 

Parents, just a reminder that children, K - 5th grade will remain in the service with their parents this weekend and next. Sprouts ministry (birth - Pre-school) will be provided as usual. Pre-schoolers will be dismissed from the service. Our Hand-in-Hand ministry (special needs) will be provided. The reason for this 'pause' for K - 5th grade is to allow our children's ministry to reset and get ready to re-launch on September 10/11.

 

Finally, I wanted to express my appreciation to our Facilities Manager, Bill Schuck. After serving Hope Church for over 5 years, Bill has decided to retire. He did a tremendous job! Thank you Bill!
