EPEAT 2.0 Report Now Available

In early 2014, the Green Electronics Council embarked on an initiative called "EPEAT 2.0." This process, actively supported by all stakeholders, reflects GEC's efforts to ensure EPEAT maintains its relevance, leadership and practicality amid the system's worldwide adoption and expansion into new product categories.

EPEAT 2.0 represents the first step in an ongoing process of improvements to continue meeting stakeholders' needs in the evolving world of electronics design and procurement. GEC has gathered data and analyzed insights using in-person meetings, virtual discussions, professional surveys and one-on-one feedback. Today we issued a 17-page report (download it here) summarizing the findings of these efforts.

In addition, Riley Research has provided a PDF of survey responses from the Manufacturer and Purchaser surveys they conducted on GEC's behalf. If you would like to a copy of either or both of these PDFs, please email Jonas Allen with your request.

Conformity Assessment Training: Feb. 3-6, 2015

Join us in Phoenix, Arizona, for EPEAT Conformity Assessment training from February 3-6, 2015.

This course will teach the EPEAT system, the IEEE 1680.1 standard for PCs and Displays, the IEEE 1680.2 standard for Imaging Equipment and the IEEE 1680.3 standard for Televisions from product declaration through verification.

Manufacturers who take the course will gain in-depth knowledge of the EPEAT system operations and standard requirements. You will learn in detail the product declaration process; the product, service and corporate criteria; and the verification process. Individuals who successfully complete the full four-day training and pass the certificate exam will be EPEAT-certified to perform conformity assessment and verification for an EPEAT-approved certification body.

Space is limited. If we do not receive sufficient interest/registrations by November 7, 2014, this course may be cancelled.
