Principal's Note

Dear Lincoln Families:

Thanks to the district and our Visual and Performing Arts Specialist, Annalisa Chason from Arts Ed. Matters, Lincoln will be hosting two Integrated Art Family Nights this spring. Grades K-2 students and one parent are invited to sign up for the visual art night on March 9th from 6:30-8:00 in the MPR. Grades 3-5 students and one parent are invited to sign up for the April 13th visual art night.

These evenings are a special time to have fun with your student(s) making art. No talent necessary. Just a desire to roll your sleeves up and make something. If turnout is anything like it was for the theater arts nights held this winter, you will want to sign up soon. Please look below to find the link to the sign-up page.

Our first full edition of the Roar is about to hit the stands. The Roar team has worked very hard to make this a memorable edition. So many of our students contributed, making this one of the longest editions in recent memory.

This is wonderful for our students to have an outlet to share their interests and their creativity. Thank you to our amazing parents who give so much of their time and expertise to keep the Roar moving forward. Please look for the Roar in your student's backpack.

Unbelievably, Trimester 2 is coming to a close. Teachers will soon be completing report cards to share with you at conferences. Conferences are scheduled immediately after the trimester ends to give parents and teachers a chance to discuss each student's progress toward their goals. This is such a great time of the year, a real chance to celebrate successes and plan next steps for reaching goals.

As always, I am amazed by how hard our students work and how motivated they are to learn and grow. Thank you for partnering with us in creating the circumstances for this growth. By focusing our students on the importance of perseverance in the hard work of learning and willingness to take risks and learn from mistakes, we ensure our students have the habits of mind necessary for a successful future.

Sincerely,
Pat

A MESSAGE FROM THE PTA

PTA NEWS

Hello Lincoln Families,

March is here and we are well into the second half of the school year.  Many parents are asking when school will start in August.  The academic calendar for the 2016-17 school year will be voted on and released in the next few weeks.   Please watch for the calendar to be posted on the left side of the Links.

Tonight we will have our monthly PTA meeting in the library at 7 pm.  We always enjoy seeing new faces at our meetings.  Please join us as we welcome our guest speaker and former Lincoln teacher, Ashley Sullivan.  She will discuss the use of technology in the classroom.

Many thanks to Keith Good and many devoted volunteers who are diligently planning International Night on March 23.  If you are interested in participating and representing your country at a table, please add your name to the spreadsheet here.

Our new picnic tables for the center courtyard are arriving next week. They will provide outdoor lunch and learning space for students. We need a few strong parents to help with assembly on Saturday 3/12 between 8-12; if you can spare a couple of hours, please click here to sign up to help.

Please join us at Pizza Night next Monday at Village Host.  Enjoy dinner with other Lincoln families, and you might just come home with a raffle prize!  Many thanks to Angie Turri and Sharon Reichow for organizing a fun night for our kids.  We hope to see you there!

Thanks,

Melinda & Isabelle

Beginning April 4, Caltrain will add a third bike car to its
