Principal's Note
Dear Lincoln Families:
I hope everyone had a fun week of rest and relaxation during our Presidents' Week break. The Team at Lincoln used last week to recharge our batteries for the busy weeks to come. It seems that the closer we get to the end of the school year, the faster time flies. We have a lot on the calendar for the weeks before Spring Break.
Conferences begin in a few weeks. You should have received a letter from me via your student informing you of our conference schedule and asking for your input on best days for scheduling your conference. This letter is due back to your student's teacher by Wednesday, March 2nd. Please make sure you get it back by the due date so teachers can do their best to schedule your conference at a time convenient for you.
Our 5th graders have a lot coming up as well. Outdoor Education is scheduled for the week of April 18th - April 22nd. It was great to see so many parents at the informational meeting last night. I know that our 5th grade teachers' enthusiasm for this program was contagious. It is both great fun and a great educational experience for our students. Because this is an experience our students long remember, it is important to us that all students who want to attend can. Please contact me directly if you would like information about a scholarship.
Additionally, Puberty Education is scheduled for our 5th graders the week of March 7th - March 11th. We are lucky to have Ms. Ivy Chen coming back. She is an experienced Puberty Ed. educator who has worked with our district for many years. Burlingame School District has scheduled a parent information night so you can meet Ms. Chen and hear more about the program. It is March 2nd at 6:30 in the BIS Library. I hope you will attend. Please return the signed permission slip for your student by the due date, March 3rd.
Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd at 7:00 in the library. Ashley Sullivan, the Burlingame Technology Integration Specialist, will present the work she has been doing this year, both district-wide and at LIncoln. I know the Lincoln community misses having Mrs. Sullivan full time at Lincoln, but she has really moved technology integration forward in the district this year. Come and hear about the good work she is doing thanks to your donation to BCE.
International Night is coming up. It is scheduled for March 23rd. This is always a wonderful community event where our families share their culture, showing the wonderful diversity that makes Lincoln such a special place. Thank in advance to everyone who works so hard to make this a great evening.

PTA NEWS

Hello Lincoln Families!
Hang on folks, here comes March with all its requisite madness! Our next PTA meeting is a week from tonight, on March 3 at 7pm in the Lincoln library. Our special guest will be Ashley Sullivan, the District technology integration specialist and former Lincoln 4th grade teacher. She will speak to the use of tech in the classroom.
We are eagerly anticipating International Night ,taking place on Wednesday, March 23 in the MPR at 6:30pm. This is a community event where families share a taste of their culture. The planning has begun! If you want to get involved, contact our wonderful chairperson, Keith Good, at lincolninternationalnight@gmail.com.
Our new picnic tables are arriving in a few short weeks. They will provide outdoor lunch and learning space for students. But we need a few strong parents to help with assembly. If you can spare a couple of hours, please click here to sign up to help.
One of the things that makes Lincoln so special is the level of parent engagement. PTA would love to hear from those interested in joining the Lincoln PTA Executive Board. This is the leadership team that maintains school traditions and supports the PTA community building mission.
Contact Michelle Tatos at mtatos@att.net to learn about the available opportunities. We need you!
