Principal's Note

Dear Lincoln Families:

The Lincoln Team is happy to welcome all of our students back from Winter Break. What a wonderful New Year's present their smiling faces were on Monday morning. I can tell that everyone had a fun-filled break. Teachers and students alike returned with renewed energy and focus for the work ahead.

The first edition of the ROAR went home with students just before Winter Break. Our Editors-in-Chief and Section Editors worked under deadline to ensure our first edition went out on time. The ROAR Team has selected the theme for the first full edition. It will be "Imagine the Impossible".

The Team is hoping that our students will allow their imaginations to go wild when finding ways to submit on this theme. Remember, the sky is the limit.  Idea forms were delivered to classrooms before the break. Students planning on submitting need to turn their form into the main office by January 13th. Please encourage your student to submit. It is important to hear every voice.

Now that inclement weather has settled in, I ask that we all keep student safety foremost in our minds. Please follow all of the drop-off and pick-up procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook. As you drive up Devereux and Balboa, please drive slowly with full attention on the road ahead. Do not double-park and have your student walk between cars to enter or exit your vehicle.

Our first Kindergarten Tour is next Wednesday, January 13th, at 9:00am. Please refer your neighbors to the Lincoln website to see the schedule of tours and remind them this is an adults only event.

Our first PTA meeting of the new year is tomorrow after morning assembly in Room 15. Please join us to hear our Response to Intervention Specialist, Mrs. Troccoe, talk about the program and early literacy.

Sincerely,
Pat

HOOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS
Dear Hoover School Parents/Guardians,

The long awaited opening of Hoover Elementary School is drawing near!

We are very excited about the opening of the school in fall of 2016. Last Spring, during the Town Hall Meetings, we discussed the attendance area and how the new boundaries may affect families. All parents in the Hoover student attendance area received a letter in November welcoming them to the new Hoover School. Along with this letter was a Hoover Confirmation Form. All Hoover families were asked to complete the form so the District can confirm space at Hoover for next year. Your confirmation will help us plan for enrollment, staffing and requests for transfers to Hoover. The confirmation letters are due to the Superintendent's Office by Friday, January 8, 2016.

The next step in the process is to create the list of Hoover attendees based on the information sent to the District. For those families attending Hoover School next year, mark your calendars for a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

If you have any questions regarding this form or Hoover Elementary, please feel free to contact my office at 650-259-3805

Best,
Dr. Maggie MacIsaac
BSD Superintendent
