Principal's Note

Dear Lincoln Families:

It is great to see our students back after Spring Break. They look energized
and ready for the next few months. I hope all of our families had a wonderful week of family, friends, and fun.

The end of the school year always brings many fun activities. Please read the LINKS and check our calendar on the Lincoln website for upcoming events.

As you have read here in the LINKS, the district is looking for community input on its LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan). This is the plan that articulates the actions both planned and taken to support student achievement in Burlingame schools. Community input is a vital part of the process of ensuring that the district's vision for student achievement is inclusive and comprehensive.

Please join us for the LCAP Community Meeting tonight, 4/9, from 7-8 pm in the BIS Auditorium. District and site administration will be there to explain the plan and answer your questions.

Thank you to the hard-working parents who organized and set up the Lincoln Family Science Night last night. It was wonderful for our accomplished Lincoln scientists to have the chance to engage in the scientific method.

Through the district's STEM Fair and last night's parent-run event, we are sending the message that science is both fun and important. Events like this one bring the community together to celebrate academic endeavor and send a message to our students that inquiry and experimentation are keys to success.

Sincerely,

Pat

Used Book Sale Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
For the price of 15 minutes of parking in downtown Burlingame, your kids can pick up a great book! That's right, for 25 cents they might bring home Junie B. Jones, Harry Potter or I Spy. So, crack open those piggy banks and check your pockets for spare change. Games, DVDs and grownup books are a dollar or less. Be sure to come early - the books fly pretty fast out of those boxes.

Spend 5 Minutes and Win a $10 Gift Card - Take the Lincoln PTA Parent Survey!
Lincoln PTA wants to hear from YOU to evaluate this year's activities and to help shape goals for next year. We want to hear from everyone and your responses will be kept confidential. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. After completing the survey, you will have the opportunity to be entered into a drawing for one of four $10 gift cards! You must complete the survey by April 24 to be entered into the drawing. To take the survey now, click here.

Good luck!

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE DISTRICT

BIS VOLUNTEER NEEDED
BIS is seeking an incoming family to maintain the planters outside the BIS Media Center, starting in June. The current plants are fairly drought resistant, so the time commitment is limited. The plants need intermittent watering, and a hose is on site. Occasionally, plants need to be replaced.

This is a great project to keep BIS beautiful and will earn your child points toward the "Block B" service program at BIS. If interested, please contact Lisa Winston, [email protected].
