 EGC-HD Electric Heavy-duty Axis
Multi-axis modular system for 2D and 3D handling systems 
EGC model toothed belt and ball screw electric actuators from Festo deliver high speed, response, and dynamic rigidity. The new EGC-HD (heavy duty) model builds on those capabilities and adds load-bearing capacity to its specifications - twice the load bearing of the EGC actuator.
The EGC-HD electric actuator features recirculating ball bearing guides that helps absorb lateral forces and torques. With a toothed belt or ball screw and two parallel guides, the EGC-HD is perfect for cantilevered systems. The toothed belt model offers flexible motor connections on all four sides.
Specially developed profiles with optimized cross section give the EGC-HD maximum rigidity and load capacity. The EGC-HD offers a more cost effective solution that two parallel axes.

 MagneMotion Synchronization Solution
MagneMover® LITE incorporates Linear Synchronous Motor (LMS) technology 
MagneMotion's LMS position sensing technique is unique in the industry (patent pending). Rather than relying on external sensors to handle motor synchronization, a transducer attached to the moving element induces a signal into the motor winding (stator) which is picked up by the motor control system. This induced signal enables the control system to determine the exact position of the moving element to within a fraction of a millimeter (fraction of a centimeter for larger systems) and commutate the motor accordingly. Because the sensing is done through the motor stator winding there is no reliance on external sensors. There is no reason why the system should ever experience synchronization problems. |

Mitsubishi Mobile Showroom returns in August
Gibson Engineering just wrapped a week of customer visits with the Mitsubishi Mobile Showroom with its full array of motion control solutions. Due to the success of these visits and customer demand the 53-foot long Solutions in Motion showroom will be returning in August.
Solutions In Motion has dual expandable walls, creating a space of more than 510 square-feet that can comfortably accommodate 25 people. Interactive demonstration pods in the Solutions Gallery with 32-inch high-definition video monitors display Mitsubishi Electric PLC products, servos, VFDs, HMIs and networks in a wide range of manufacturing applications.
