Advocates Brazil working together with YMCA of Brazil
Dear Friends,
Gilberto Ribeiro and our friends of Advocates Brazil are encouraged by recent developments in their partnership with YMCA of Brazil. Praise the Lord for the encouraging insight into the direction that YMCA is taking in returning to its Christian roots.
Please keep Gilberto and Advocates Brazil in your prayers, especially for an upcoming Legal prayer breakfast event they are co-sponsoring on February 14 with YMCA (ACM in Brazil) of So Paulo. The speaker, Dr. Piero Tozzi, ADF's representative for Latin America, will be speaking on "Human Rights in a Post-Modern Society."
In addition, Advocates Brazil is looking for ways to increase their presence throughout Brazil and will be working with a Christian action committee headed up by a retired prosecutor. Gilberto asks for us to pray for the following:
1. This coming event and for wisdom to take advantage of this partnership; 2. Open doors to YMCA to maintain this partnership as part of its culture and strategic plan; 3. Our plan to establish regular meetings in different points of our country, in the same day and hour, to discuss legal issues according to Gods principles, networkin, testimony, partnership; 4. Virtual meetings we will re-start these coming weeks involving key leaders from different states. What a tremendous encouragement to see how God is bringing together new partners for the growth and encouragement of His kingdom in Brazil. Truly a blessing for the outreach to legal professionals in that nation.
We are grateful for your continued prayers and financial support for the work of Advocates. Thank you.
May the Lord bless you with His perfect . . . Grace and peace,
Brent McBurney President & CEO Advocates International

Christ und Jurist: A Growing Influence in German legal circles
Earlier this week I had the blessing of spending some time with Christ und Jurist member and Public Relations Director, Dr. Ingo Friedrich, who is in DC for the National Prayer Breakfast. He is a private practice attorney who lives near Frankfurt and has been involved with Christ und Jurist for some time. He is a humble and genuine brother in Christ and has a terrific heart for other lawyers. Besides our love for Christ, another thing we share is that we both have daughters named Sarah.
Although Christ und Jurist has been active for over a decade, it was only in the past year or so that they became a formally registered entity in Germany and have now begun to make a more public stand through active engagement with the culture. They are hosting a national conference in May 10-12 2013 in Hofgeismar, Germany, and will be hearing from Bishop Anba Damian (General Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Germany) on "The situation of the Coptic Christians in Egypt," among others. For the conference flyer in German, CLICK HERE.
In addition, they are already planning for their larger bi-annual conference which is scheduled for 16-18 May 2014 and will be held in Munich.
If either of these dates works for you and you know you'll be in Germany, please consider their open invitation to join them. And please continue to pray for their growing influence in German legal circles. |
Advocates International & Campus Crusade for Christ International conference: REGISTER NOW! Hong Kong, 4-8 April 2013
We are pleased that our friends from Advocates Asia have chosen to join with Advocates International in Hong Kong for their 12th regional conference. Please continue to pray for the Lord's provision for all who are planning to attend the "Transforming the World Through Faith and Law" conference.
Our agenda includes religious liberty, rule of law, peace & reconciliation, among other key issues, and we are encouraged by the participation of the entire law faculty of Handong International Law School. Moreover, we are expecting attorneys and law students from around the globe.
The registration website for the conference, "Transforming the World Through Faith & Law," which will be held in Hong Kong in April 2013 is open. We invite you to CLICK HERE to begin the registration process.
However, because of the limited size of this conference, those interested in attending will need to contact their regional boards or the AI headquarters office to confirm the availability of space.

AI is not a recipient of government funding and is solely dependent upon the financial contributions of those who believe in its mission, thereby enabling it to serve "clients" ranging from heads of state seeking to implement constitutional reforms to persecuted and imprisoned believers sentenced to death for their faith.
