December 22, 2015

Dear Community Voicemail Partner,

As the end of the year approaches, I wanted to provide you with some contact and next step information about Community Voicemail. As a reminder, the Community Voicemail Program will close nationwide on December 31, 2015. No additional clients may sign up after that date.

Current active users will be allowed to keep their voicemail access through March 31, 2016 to allow additional time for transition. If one of your current, active Community Voicemail users needs assistance with their voicemail, you may direct them to me, Scot More at smore@homelesshouston.org. I will also be sending them periodic boradcasts about the program closure and any relevant resources (such as the free Lifeline cell phones).

By Monday, January 4, 2016:
  • Please discard any Community Voicemail security logs and general program information/binders so another provider does not attempt to sign someone up. You should shred any materials with identifying information, including intake forms, unelss your agency requires you to keep the forms for a certain period of time.
    • If numbers have been distributed from multiple departments, please make sure all copies are removed.
  • If your program has been publicly advertised, please post information about the program closure on your website, blogs, or social media.
  • Please remove any physical signs advertising the program, or information about the program on your website.
If you have any additional questions feel free to contact me at any time.

Have a happy holiday,

Scot More
