One of life's foremost quandaries is change. Most people hate it, resist it and even fear it, yet to borrow a quote from Greek philosopher Heraclitus, "The only thing constant is change." Since change is inevitable, why not regarded it as daring, exciting and necessary. You can find hundreds of quotes extolling the virtues of change. "Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change," wrote Jim Rohn.
Ten months ago, Gayle Jansen Brisbane left a successful 20-year career in broadcast television and moved her family of five from Arizona to Colorado in order for her to begin a PhD program here at CU. Bringing about that extreme of a change was simultaneously scary and thrilling for her. You'll hear more about Gayle's story later in the newsletter.
As you may have guessed, the theme of this month's Future 411 is change. Trish Bredar, who has served as the Future 411 editor for the past 18 months, is transitioning onto the next chapter in her life. Gayle will be assuming her role as editor and will strive to carry on Trish's good work by assisting in preparing you for your next step.
