It's the holiday season already! We want to wish our American community members a Happy Thanksgiving. Here in Canada, we are just beginning to get ready for the Christmas season. It was about 5 weeks ago that I was out for dinner with my family at a Sushi restaurant and they were playing Christmas music. As much as we love Christmas, the look Brian and I gave each other said loud and clear "this is WAY too early"! I recall as a child, Christmas taking forever to arrive and now as a busy mompreneur, it comes too quickly! With that said, I excitedly anticipate this Christmas season, as we experience it through the eyes of our 2 1/2 year old! 

Now before we get fully embraced in the festivities, I would like to have you laser focus on your business, even if it is just for a few more weeks. Today's article is on "selling" our services. Enrolling individuals to do business with us is the cornerstone of building a successful business and for most self employed professionals, is the most challenging part of being a business owner. "Working together vs. selling"
As self employed professionals, each one of us feels like we have a personal mission to make a difference for others. We are attracted to coaching because we love to work with people - but when it comes to "selling" our services, many of us get a bit uncomfortable. And yet, we need to be paid for the value we provide. So what's an up-and-coming self employed professional to do?

It's simple! Make a mental shift, from "selling your services" to "enrolling people" in the courage, confidence, commitment to getting what they want in life. (That feels better already, doesn't it?)

Here's the difference: Selling implies an attempt to influence someone to buy a product. Enrollment is building a relationship with a prospective client and inviting them to work with you. Put another way, it's the difference between: will they hire me? and how can I serve them?
