We had more applicants than available positions, which is a great problem to have, and are pleased to welcome Laura Briggs, Liane Decker, Laurie Krepto, and Russell Roeder to the board. Happy New Year! Pennypack Farm & Education Center had a very successful 2014, and we have big plans for 2015! I hope you read the last issue of the Pickings, which covers our main accomplishments over the past year.

A few highlights:

• 522 families received weekly produce shares from our two farms
• 4,600 pounds of produce was donated to 4 local food pantries
• Volunteers, like you, provided more than 2,500 hours of service throughout the year 
• We had our first graduate from our 2-year farming apprentice program

If you have a few hours during a normal school day and enjoying working w kids, please consider joining our volunteer education team.  Last year we had 6 volunteers attend 2 get togethers to learn about our classes so they were ready to work with the kids.  I'd like to do the same again this Spring.
