Good Morning Volunteers!
Ever wonder why our students and volunteers look so darn good in WEN's waders? It's because we wash them! WEN has a strict wader washing policy to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species to the various waterways we monitor.
Dang! Not only did those waders match YCC crew members, Noah Marquardt and Dylan Findlay's eyes, they also were thoroughly cleaned after monitoring the St. Regis River! (Photo Credit: Rebecca Paquette)
Volunteer Coordinator, Abra Kaiser, and volunteer, Morgan Vinyard, pose with two students from Willard Alternative High School at Rattlesnake Creek. Is it just me, or do you think these two should be on the cover of Clean Waders Magazine? (Photo Credit: Deb Fassnacht)
So if you have a half hour to an hour free today to stop by to help with the wader clean up, please do! It helps keep us going to more and more teaching and monitoring events across Western Montana!
Stream Teamers, Frank Preston and Rebecca Paquette, set up transects not only in Lolo Creek, but also in glamorously clean waders. (Okay Frank's wearing his own, but I'm sure they're also very clean.) (Photo Credit: Cassie Sevigny)
The office will be open from 8-5 today and our waders could use some TLC. Shoot water@montanawatershed.org an email. Or you can call/text my cell phone if you can make it or if you'd prefer to come at a later time. We hope to see you here at WEN!
