Hello Volunteers!


14 days until Halloween!  Have you picked out your costume and carved your pumpkin?  While these last few preparations are being made, come volunteer with WEN!

Whats New?

Saturday November 8th, 2014
Program with Missoula Outdoor Explorer Mentoring Program (OEMP)
WEN has the opportunity to lead a program for this great organization.  We will be doing some kind of program focusing on the importance and inherent value of healthy waterways, most likely with an outdoor field trip.  If you have any outdoor knowledge such as birding, riparian areas, or any related topics, please let us know as we are still developing this program.

Reminders/Ongoing Events

Monday and Tuesday October 20th and 21st, 2014
School Stream Monitoring
WEN will be leading a Stream Monitoring program with 7th graders from St. Joseph's School. Our stations will focus on collecting chemical, physical, and biological data on the Clark Fork River near the Boone and Crockett Club. Let us know if you can make it to either day for these monitoring sessions!

Investigations in Water
Willard Alternative High School will be joining WEN at Bugbee Nature Preserve to have a day to investigate water! Students will be brainstorming parameters they want to measure/monitor on the 15th and from there, WEN will provide these students with the tools to do so. Calling all interests, backgrounds and walks of life for this field trip!!! Students in the past have come up with a variety of subjects including but not limited to 
bird monitoring, photography, and macroinvertebrates! 
We'll know more next week!

Friday October 24th, 2014
Come and enjoy some live music provided by the Discount Quartet and help us tell the WEN story. This year, WEN is the beneficiary of the auction, an opportunity we are very excited about!  If you would rather participate in the auction, tickets are $10 which gets you appetizers and drinks.

Sunday October 19th, and 26th, 2014
Stream Team
Join our weekend citizen science water monitoring program this fall!  Learn to use stream monitoring equipment and contribute to our river health database.  This season we are focusing on the Lolo Creek watershed. For more info, and to check the times, please email katiekinney1@gmail.com.
