Hello Volunteers!


Wow! It's October already!  Where is this season going?  Check out these upcoming opportunities, and remember that we can always use help in the office!!

October 7th, 2014
Climate Change Workshop
Our Climate Change Workshop was developed by last spring's WEN interns Emily Prague and Shannon James. Come assist/shadow this discussion with high school students at Willard High School, and learn some more about climate change.

When: 8:00am - 10:00am

October 7th, 2014
Art Class/Water Issue Talk
Come assist high school students at Willard High School with an art project based on our favorite topic, water! In addition, Deb will be leading a water issue talk with these students, focusing on a few of the issues in our area and around the globe.

When: 11:45am - 1:45pm

 
October 14th and 16th, 2014
School Stream Monitoring Assistance
As part of a University of Montana class, students will be taught our school stream monitoring project, much like you all have done at our training days. Your role as a volunteer will be to mentor these University students as they lead one of the stations.  The students who are being taught at the stations are local home school classes.
Where: Meet at WEN office
When: Noon to 4:00pm

October 24th, 2014
Come and enjoy some live music provided by the Discount Quartet and help us tell the WEN story. This year, WEN is the beneficiary of the auction, an opportunity we are very excited about!  If you would rather participate in the auction, tickets are $10 which gets you appetizers and drinks. 
When: 6:00pm

None of these times work for you?  That's ok!  We are always looking for help in the office.  Tasks may include but are not limited to: gear prep, cleaning, and organization, data entry, and social media.  Please give us a call or email water@montanawatershed.org!

Reminders/Ongoing Events:
 
October 2nd, 3rd, and 6th
Groundwater Presentations at C.S. Porter
Groundwater programs focuses on the differences between surface and groundwater, how water moves through different substrates, and how contaminates can enter the aquifer.  This is a follow up, classroom presentation to the School Stream Monitoring programs.
