3rd Annual American Indian Festival
, July 13-14 at Century II Expo Hall. You and your family are invited to get involved in a variety of ways starting Friday night.

Preview Party
6-8 p.m., Friday, July 12 
Cost: $30 per ticket; $250 table for 10

Guests at the American Indian Festival Preview Party will receive a sneak peek at everything the festival has to offer before it opens to the general public. 
  • Be the first to visit the fine art vendor booths with your pick of what's available.
  • Participate in a meet-and-greet with featured American Indian jewelry artists Tonya June Rafael and Jolene Bird, both from New Mexico.
  • Enjoy a catered meal and wine.

American Indian Festival Film Contest
  • First place: $500 cash prize
  • Second place: $200 cash prize and a family
    membership to the Indian Center (valued at $100)
  • Third place: 2013 Tallgrass Film Festival TALLpass
    (valued at $190).
  • Each of the winning filmmakers will receive a special invitation to the 2014 American Indian Festival Preview
    Party to introduce their films.
The Mid-America All-Indian Center is launching the first-ever American Indian Festival Film Contest with the Tallgrass Filmmakers Lab as its media partner. Filmmakers of all ages are invited to create a documentary-style film (between 8-10 minutes) that best captures the spirit and excitement of the 3rd annual American Indian Festival.

Each contest participant will receive free admission into the American Indian Festival to shoot his or her documentary. All filming must take place at the festival.

Local American Indian filmmaker Rod Pocowatchit will head a judging panel made up of Nick Pope, co-director of programming for the Tallgrass Film Association and representatives from the Indian Center.

Entry forms and contest rules are posted online. A special $10 "early bird" entry fee is available until July 1. Pre-registration is encouraged.
