The Call by Yannick Murphy
In this uniquely written novel, the daily rhythm of a veterinarian's family in rural New England is shaken when a hunting accident leaves their eldest son in a coma. With the lives of his loved ones unhinged, the veterinarian struggles to maintain stability while searching for the man responsible. But in the midst of their great trial an unexpected visitor arrives, requesting a favor that will have profound consequences --- testing a loving father's patience, humor, and resolve and forcing husband and wife to come to terms with what "family" truly means.

Public Libraries are not what they used to be, we have so much more to offer
Your life is not what it use to be, you are so much busier
Let's get together and see how we can help each other out!
We are turning 10 years old in September!
We are working on a long-range plan, and ideas for the future,
since this is your library even more than it is ours, we'd really like your input.
This is the first event in a series of surveys, polls and conversations
we will be having this spring - so if you can't join us this time around,
maybe you can help in the future.

E-Readers and other devices!

You can also bring your device in and we can sit down with you to help figure it out. Please call ahead to make sure someone will be available to help you!

|
Unscheduled Closings
Please be sure to call ahead before heading to the library in inclement weather. We don't want you driving on icy or snowy roads just to get your books back - and we know you don't want our staff driving on them either!
As soon as we make a decision to close early we will post on our Facebook page and website. We also use the RI Broadcasters network to announce if we will not be openings at all.

Resources we want you to know about!

The Artful Parent
Diane gets lots of questions about where she gets ideas for her programs and crafts.
She really likes The Artful Parent, a blog written by Jean Van't Hul "Writer and Children's Art Enabler" who is "passionate about children's art and creativity."
"On The Artful Parent I share ideas, information, and inspiration to encourage you to enjoy and share art with the kids in your life."

Popular Book Reviews
There are many websites offering book reviews. One that Amy uses often is Entertainment Weekly Magazine's Shelf Life.
Shelf Life offers up reviews of upcoming titles, but also gives the scoop on how these books relate to pop culture, upcoming movies and television shows. They are pretty good at predicting what's going to be the next big thing in titles and often focus on teen books (but teen books that we find also appeal to adults.)
