Thank you for helping with Fall Fest arrival and dismissal procedures this week!  It has definitely been a change, and we appreciate your patience.
  
We began to set up for Fall Fest today, and I am excited to see all the progress and changes made to our parking lot!  Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at this awesome event!  For those families who ordered Fall Fest t-shirts, they will be distributed to the students' classrooms tomorrow during school.

SCHOOL AND PARISH NEWS

Fall Fest Starts Tomorrow!  
       We hope to see everyone at this exciting event that benefits the School and the Capital Campaign, which breaks ground in spring 2016. 
       There are great headliner bands every night and local performers playing throughout the day.  Hours of the Carnival are: Thursday, 5-10 p.m., Friday, 5-11 p.m., Saturday, 12-11 p.m., and Sunday 12-9 p.m.  A Children's Event for the younger kids will be Saturday at noon, and the St. Cletus "Kids Got Talent" show will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m.  On Sunday, St. Cletus will host a First Responders Mass at 11:00 a.m. on the stage.  St. Cletus Students in grades K-5 made thank you cards to give to all First Responders in attendance at the Mass. We hope you will join us.
       Fall Fest t-shirts should arrive soon. They will be distributed on Thursday to the classrooms. There will also be limited quantities available for sale at the event. 
       Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help make this event a success. If you have not had a chance to sign up, there are still spots available. Please click HERE to volunteer.

    • Carnival Megapasses (4 days of unlimited rides) are $55.00.  Purchase yours today on-line at Buy My Tickets in the parish rectory.
    • Raffle tickets are $20.00 per ticket, 3 for $50.00, or 6 for $100.00.  We hope each parish family will sell a minimum of 6 tickets. If you are unable to sell the tickets you received in the mail, please return them to the rectory.

    Grandfriends' Day
           The second annual "Grandfriends' Day" will be held on Friday, October 2.  All students are invited to bring their grandparent(s) or special person to this very special afternoon at St. Cletus.

    8th Grade is Selling Mums
           The St. Cletus 8th grade class is selling mums to help offset the cost of 8th grade events and activities.  Click HERE to see the mums flyer and order form.
    Internet Safety Presentation
           Come and learn about Internet safety on September 23!  Students in grades 1-4 will attend this age-appropriate presentation during school at 1:15 p.m. in Morrissey Hall.  Students in grades 5-8 will attend their presentation at 1:50 p.m.
           Parents of all grade levels are invited to join Detective Charles Hollendoner for a Parent Internet Safety Presentation at 6:30 p.m. in Morrissey Hall.  Please join us!
    FSA Volunteers Still Needed
           The St. Cletus FSA needs YOU!  We are still looking for parent volunteers to serve as FSA grade representatives this year.  Get involved and represent your child's homeroom.  Visit this LINK for information and to sign up!
      
    NOTES/REMINDERS

    Fall Festival Arrival/Dismissal & Parking Procedures

           Please read the letter that was sent home in last week's family envelope regarding special procedures implemented for the Fall Fest.  (Ms. Lewandowski has also sent a few e-mail blast reminders.)      
    Aftercare Pickup
           Students should be picked up from Aftercare at the flagpole entrance.  Walk up the sidewalk and ring the "Aftercare" doorbell to be admitted into the building.  Pickup is in Room 98-A and B (kindergarten and preschool rooms).
    Attendance and Extended Care Notifications
           Please notify the school office and teacher(s) for student attendance and/or extended care changes/requests:

    St. Cletus Parent Volunteers Reminder
          If you have not already done so, the following need to be completed and returned to the main office:
                 1. Criminal background screening;
                 2. Virtus training (see below);
                 3. Mandated Reporter training;
                 4. Code of Conduct form; and
                 5. Background check (CANTS form).  
           St. Cletus is hosting a Virtus training session on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.  Go to Virtus Training to register.  Registrations are on-line only.        Sessions begin promptly.  Late arrivals are not allowed for any reason.  Sessions will be conducted in Room 201 of the school building.  Please enter at the flagpole entrance at the front of the school building.  You must be present for the entire session to receive credit and certificate of attendance.

    Box Tops for Education  
           Ask your friends and family to save their Box Tops.  Every Box Top donated to our school is worth ten cents. We earned over $2,000 last year.  If you have questions about the Box Tops program, or if your student would like to earn service hours counting Box Tops, e-mail Ann Foley.

    Auditions for Shrek, Jr.
           The deadline for the Community Park District of La Grange Park's musical auditions sign-up is Tuesday, September 22.

    La Grange Public Library
           Library cards are your child's most important school supply!  The La Grange Public Library is celebrating National Library Card Sign-up Month in September. We're running several promotions for residents of La Grange, including reduced fines, waving the fee on replacement cards, and a chance to spin our prize wheel from September 1-September 30.  For more information, contact the La Grange Public Library at (708) 215-3200.
    Pleasant Dale Park District's Boys Basketball League
           The registration deadline for the Fall Boys Basketball League at Pleasant Dale Park District in Burr Ridge is Saturday, September 12.  For more information, please call (630) 662-6620.
    Lyons Township High School Transition Dates for 8th Grade Students

    Western Springs Lacrosse
           This program is available to boys and girls from kindergarten to 8th grade with any experience level, starting September 13.  You can find more information at WS Lacrosse.

    Hinsdale High School Testing

           For private schools that do not administer the MAP Test, Hinsdale Central High School will be administering this test on Saturday, October 17, 2015.  Please contact the high school for details.
