Open Invitation for Lent

What is your family doing together to make this the best Lent ever this year?

How does a night out for soup, bread, and peaceful prayer sound for you and your family?  No cooking, no dishes, no TV--just being together as a family for an hour and a half.

You are invited to come and share a simple Lenten meal, followed by

a little God-time with music and prayer on Friday, Feb. 27.  Supper is from 6:00-6:45 p.m. in Morrissey Hall. Taize Prayer is from 7:00-7:45 p.m. in church.

Come as you are.  All are welcome--walk-ins, too.  Please e-mail Paulette Bolton or call (708) 352-2383.

Save the Date--Saturday, March 21

The St. Cletus Roller Skating Party will be held on Saturday, March 21.  The Roller Skating Party will be held at Fleetwood Roller Rink in Summit and is open to students in Grades 4-8.  Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., and we are asking parents to pick up at 7:30 p.m.  Parents are welcome to stay if they choose.  Pre-
sale tickets will go on sale during lunch on March 2 and will be $6.00 per student.  Tickets sold at the door will be $8.00.  Students may bring their own skates or rent them at the rink for $3.00.  It's a great way to get the kids out of the house for a few hours!

Support Our Youth Ministry

This July, a group of our parish teens will spend a week serving with "Young Neighbors in Action" in the community of Donaldson, Indiana. They are working now to raise the funds to support their mission by selling Fannie May Easter candy.

Please stop by the school office by Thursday, March 5, to order your Easter candy!  You can get a head start on Easter preparations while supporting the St. Cletus Youth Ministry.

NOTES/REMINDERS

Drop-off and Pickup Safety

The church parking area is a big safety concern.  With more people attending 8:00 a.m. Mass during Lent, there are fewer parking spaces.  Also, parents are parking in the handicapped spaces as they walk their children in to school.

There is absolutely no dropping off or picking up of students in the front of church east of the cones and no parking in the handicapped spaces.  You must use our drop-off procedure line for arrival and dismissal, even if students are attending 8:00 a.m. Mass.  This system has worked well for many years and is a safe alternative to parking.  We have plenty of help outside to guide the children from the cars to the school building.  If you absolutely must park, please escort your children out of the car and hold their hands in the parking lot.  Use extreme caution pulling in and out of the parking lot and walking through the parking lot.

When using the drop off line in the front and on 54th Street, please pull all the way up before allowing your children to enter/exit the car.  Please be mindful of cars in front of you and behind you.  Never pull around a car.  Kindly wait, and move forward as the line moves.

Arrival and dismissal lasts 10 minutes or less.  Please allow enough time in your schedule at the beginning and end of the day for a safe arrival and dismissal, and watch your speed. This is a school zone!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

2015-16 Re-Enrollment (Current Families)

School families received an e-mail/letter from Mrs. Hillgoth and Ms. Hayes with instructions for on-line re-enrollment and a link to the FACTS Management site for your $50.00 deposit.

Please Note: to prevent late fees, we scheduled the re-enrollment deposit due date for May 2015.  Auto Pay families' accounts are scheduled to withdraw this payment in May, unless you schedule it sooner. So, we are asking all families, including those using Auto Pay, to schedule your deposit now.  Please visit your FACTS Incidental Expenses account and open the 2015-16 school year to make your payment.

St. Cletus School enrollment is now open to the general public, and class openings are available to all on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you haven't re-enrolled, please do so now.  Thank you.

Aftercare Notifications

Please contact the school office NO LATER THAN 2:00 p.m. for aftercare notifications.  The office needs plenty of time to get your messages to your child(ren)'s teachers.
