2015 Luau T-Shirts are Now on Sale

       The 2015 Auction "Lei'd Back Luau" is right around the corner, and Luau t-shirts are now on sale! 
        With your t-shirt purchase, your student will get four Dress Down Days to sport their totally radical t-shirt!  Don't delay...orders must be returned to the office by Thursday, February 5, to take advantage of all four Dress Down Days!  Click HERE for details and the order form.  The order form is also going home in this week's family envelope.

Spring Auction Wine Cellar Raffle

       Aloha!  We need your help in building the St. Cletus Community Wine Cellar for the Instant Wine Cellar Raffle.  We will be selling corks for $50.00 per cork.  The winner, to be chosen during the Lei'd Back Luau Spring Auction on March 7, will receive 50 bottles of fine wine valued at over $1,200!

       In order to make the Raffle a success, we need your help.  We are requesting donations of bottles of wine (red or white) with a price tag of $25.00 and up.  Wine donations may be dropped off at the Carons' home at 5645 S. Madison Avenue in Countryside or in the St. Cletus school office.

       Don't have time to shop?  No problem.  We are also accepting monetary donations and will purchase the wine on your behalf.  Please send donations to the school office in an envelope marked "Wine Raffle Donation."  Include your name, mailing address, and phone number with your donation.

Fathers' Club Meeting Tonight

       We are meeting on Wednesday, January 28, at Buck's Pitstop in Hodgkins. The meeting will start at 8:00 p.m., but feel free to drop in around 7:30.

       At the meeting we will be discussing our annual Father's Day Weekend Wiffle Ball Tournament, along with brainstorming ideas for service projects and social get-togethers.

Hot Lunch Program

       It's nearly that time again!  We will start our ordering process for the third semester's hot lunch next week.  Ordering dates will be February 4 through February 24 for hot lunch dates of March 9 through the end of May.  Order details will be sent out next week.

History and Science Fairs

       Last Friday, the seventh grade students competed in the St. Cletus History Fair.  They have been working very hard on these projects, and everyone did a great job.  The following students were the winners of the competition and will represent St. Cletus at the regional competition at Lane Tech this April:

       Documentaries: Jack Pusatera and Meg McLean

       Show Boards: Maddie Cranny, Kaitlyn Cassidy, Katie and Carson Hart, and Mary Welenc

       Websites: Matt Schuler, Kelly Grace, Matt Luxem, and Nate Banos

 

       On Thursday, January 22, our eighth grade students displayed their experiments and projects in our Science Exposition.  Everyone did a wonderful job and demonstrated their knowledge.  However, four students stood out above the rest and will be representing St. Cletus in Chicago this March, competing against students from all over northern Illinois.

       Congratulations to Isabelle Donahue, First Place; Deirdre Sheridan, Second Place; Abby Hurley, Third Place, and Emily Rausch, Fourth Place.

TGIF Dance, 7th & 8th Grade Students

       The 7th and 8th Grade TGIF Dance will be on Friday, February 20, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Morrissey Hall. The theme is "Mardi Gras Ball."  Permission slips are due by Wednesday, February 11.  Please note a time change in the volunteer chaperone shifts.  The first shift is 6:45-8:00 p.m., and the second shift is 8:00-9:15 p.m.

Service Opportunity, 6th through 8th Grade Students

       Calling people of service from 6th grade on up!  We are in need of some helping hands in assembling the rice bowls to be used in this year's parish Lenten Almsgiving Project, which will support Catholic Relief Service's humanitarian efforts throughout the world.  This project will take place in the St. Cletus rectory basement as follows:

       Wednesday, February 4, from 3:15-5:15 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.

       Thursday, February 5, from 3:15-5:15 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. (if needed)

2015-16 Re-Enrollment (Current Families)

       School families received an e-mail/letter from Mrs. Hillgoth and Ms. Hayes with instructions for on-line re-enrollment and a link to the FACTS Management site for your $50.00 deposit.

       Please Note: to prevent late fees, we scheduled the re-enrollment deposit due date for May 2015.  Auto Pay families' accounts are scheduled to withdraw this payment in May, unless you schedule it sooner. So, we are asking all families, including those using Auto Pay, to schedule your deposit now.  Please visit your FACTS Incidental Expenses account and open the 2015-16 school year to make your payment. 

       St. Cletus School enrollment is now open to the general public, and class openings are available to all on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you haven't re-enrolled, please do so now.  Thank you.

NOTES/REMINDERS

2014 Tax Information for Tuition Paid

       2014 tuition paid (for tax filing) can now be easily accessed through your FACTS Management account, effective immediately.  This year there will be no tax letters going home to school families.  You may access your tuition paid record through FACTS Management as follows:

  1. Visit your FACTS account and click on your "Payment Plan" for the 2014-2015 School Year;
  2. Under "Activity Details," click on the "Payments" tab;
  3. On the right side of the screen, click on "View Printable Payment Summary";
  4. Select the year you want to show for tuition paid;
  5. On the right side of the screen, click on the "Print" link to print your summary.

       This tax report shows all tuition paid in 2014 for the 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16 school years.  If you have any questions, please contact the school office. 

Aftercare Notifications

       Please contact the school office NO LATER THAN 2:00 p.m. for Aftercare notifications.  The office needs plenty of time to get your messages to your child(ren)'s teachers.
