June 4, 2014

Dear Parents,

The 2013-14 school year is coming to a close. We wish you and your family a fun-filled and safe summer.  Take some time to relax and enjoy all the opportunities summer brings.

Please take time to read this Scoop. It is filled with information regarding summer hours, athletic opportunities, Fall Fest information, etc.

It has been a successful year! Thank you to all our volunteers who made our jobs much easier: Pam Rohrbacher and the lunch supervisors; Mary Ellen Staelgraeve and the Book Fair volunteers; the Butneys and McGuires and all Fall Fest Volunteers; Lupe McKeehan and the Market Day volunteers; Carrie Golden and the Walkathon volunteers; Heather and Dan Alpe for chairing the Annual Fund; the Shanleys and all the Auction volunteers; our 7th and 8th grade parents for planning receptions and activities for the junior high; Rosanne Welenc and Carrie Wangard and all the Manna volunteers; Robin Bourjaily and her teams of Spirit Wear and hot lunch volunteers; our School Board, FSA and the grade reps; the Athletic Association and coaches for supporting us in so many ways; and all the volunteers who chaired committees or worked on the many projects and school events throughout the year. We could not provide all these wonderful opportunities without the help of so many volunteers. Kudos to all!

On behalf of all the school faculty and staff, we thank you for sharing your children with us. It has been a joy working and learning with you.  We are looking forward to planning the 2014-15 school year with more new and exciting things to come.

Happy Summer,

Jolene Hillgoth and Margaret Hayes

Hot Lunch Program--2014-15

Based on student and parent feedback, the Hot Lunch team is proud to announce some improvements coming your way in the fall.

       1. We will be offering lunch two days a week: Mondays and Wednesdays.  Our Monday lunch will be from Buona Beef.  We will be offering many fresh items a la carte at a school-discounted price, including salads, sandwiches, pasta, fruit salads, etc. (Our previous Buona Days were not at a school-discounted price.)  Wednesday lunch will be with the same local vendors that we have used in the past and will remain at the price of $2.00.  As always, this is an optional program, and students can order as many or as few days as they would like.

       2. We will be using an on-line company to place the orders each semester. This process will make it easier for parents and the hot lunch volunteers.  Parents will be able to pay by credit card, debit card or check.
