May 21, 2014

Dear Parents,

Spiritually speaking, May is one of my favorite months, because it is the month of our Blessed Mother, Mary.  We have honored Mary this month in many ways, the most obvious one being the recitation of the Memorare every morning.  I hope this has helped bring us all closer to our Blessed Mother.

I continue to be impressed with the wonderful events we have here at St. Cletus.  Last week it was a treat to attend the 8th grade Dinner Dance.  What a lovely night it was, filled with music, dancing and memories.  This was followed by the "Golf Outing," which turned into bowling due to the weather.  Both events were well organized, and a good time was had by all.

A big thank you goes to all the parents who organize all the events here at St. Cletus, but this month, especially the 8th grade parents.  I am truly looking forward to graduation and how special I am sure it will be.

Sincerely,

Margaret M. Hayes

Principal

SCHOOL AND PARISH NEWS

St. Cletus School Board Vacancies

The St. Cletus School Board is accepting applications to serve a three-year term on the Board, beginning with the 2014-15 school year.  The Board has two particular needs.  We need one member to serve on the Marketing and Publicity Committee and another to serve and lead us with the Alumni Committee.

The Marketing and Publicity Committee is responsible for advertising and promoting the school's strengths and accomplishments across all forms of media, the recruitment of new families, and retention goals. Members are expected to establish an action plan to execute the above needs as well as support additional School Board initiatives.

The Alumni Chairperson is responsible for creating and distributing an Alumni newsletter twice a year, work with the school office to update and maintain the alumni database, and coordinate two alumni events.  The Chairperson should be able to establish a subcommittee of volunteers to assist with the above responsibilities.

Interested applicants should e-mail their resume and a brief statement to School Board.
