May 14, 2014

Dear Parents,

My goodness but this month is flying by so quickly.  Before you know it, this year will be in the books.  Don't forget to sign up for some golfing fun and to help us reach our goal of 100% participation in the Annual Fund before school gets out.

Parents of graduates--your child is invited to the Youth Group Mass and Picnic this Sunday, May 18, 11:00 a.m. Mass.  A flyer went home with your child.  Being a part of the youth group is a great way to stay connected to St. Cletus after graduation.  "Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal!"

"Well Done!" to our 7th graders at the State of Illinois History Fair!  We are so very proud of you.  Congratulations to our newly installed Student Council members.  Yesterday's installation prayer service was lovely, and I know our new Student Council will do us proud!

Sincerely,

Margaret M. Hayes

Principal

SCHOOL AND PARISH NEWS

St. Cletus School Board Vacancies

The St. Cletus School Board is accepting applications to serve a three-year term on the Board, beginning with the 2014-15 school year.  The Board has two particular needs.  We need one member to serve on the Marketing and Publicity Committee and another to serve and lead us with the Alumni Committee.

The Marketing and Publicity Committee is responsible for advertising and promoting the school's strengths and accomplishments across all forms of media, the recruitment of new families, and retention goals. Members are expected to establish an action plan to execute the above needs as well as support additional School Board initiatives.

The Alumni Chairperson is responsible for creating and distributing an Alumni newsletter twice a year, work with the school office to update and maintain the alumni database, and coordinate two alumni events.  The Chairperson should be able to establish a subcommittee of volunteers to assist with the above responsibilities.

Interested applicants should e-mail their resume and a brief statement to School Board.

Calling all Golfers

Sign up today for the 13th Annual Cardinal Open at Gleneagles Country Club on June 27. Golfers of all abilities are invited to join us for this spectacular event, which includes beverages, dinner, and prizes while golfing on a beautiful course.

Use the form on the Golf Outing website to register today!

Annual Fund

Please keep the St. Cletus School Annual Fund in mind when you make your charitable contributions.  Participation is important.  No gift is too small!  The grade level with the highest participation wins an ice cream party!  (As of today, May 14, Grade 1 is in first place, grade 4 is in second place, and grade 2 is in third place.)  See our Flyer!
