SCHOOL CALENDAR     |     TEACHEREASE    |     CLASSROOM NEWSLETTERS  |     VOLUNTEER

Dear Parents,

WOW!  Is all I can say about that wonderful "Guys and Dolls" production.  The students worked incredibly hard and it showed.  Congratulations to Mrs. Gomez and the 6th, 7th and 8th graders!  Well Done!

Speaking of Mrs. Gomez, she begins her maternity leave today, so please keep her and her husband in your prayers as they await the birth of their baby.  We have hired a full-time substitute to cover Mrs. Gomez's classes until she returns.  Join me in welcoming Mrs. Tracey Lukritz.  Mrs. Lukritz is a music teacher and has met with Mrs. Gomez about continuing her lesson plans until she returns.

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, is a (free-of-charge) Spirit Wear Day!  Our "principal for a day" Miss Nicoletti was very generous in giving us this day.  It will be dress down, but the dress is Spirit Wear, not whatever I want to wear!  St. Cletus sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweat pants, etc. are all acceptable.

I would say "Happy Spring!" but it is only 15 degrees as I write this, so instead I will say, "Have a great day and a great rest of the week!"

Sincerely,

Margaret M. Hayes

Principal

Cardinals in the Community

One of the many positive results of St. Cletus School's daily focus on faith is a drive to help others. Recently that drive made itself known when a team of ten boys and two dads debuted "Team Cardinal." The group gathered pledges and then had their heads shaved to benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

Organizer Tim O'Brien said the boys were ecstatic to more than double their goal of $3,000 by raising a total of $6,345. O'Brien took his sons--third-grader Colin and seventh-grader Jack--and a few other boys last year to a local hair salon to shave their heads. The amount of interest generated made forming a team this year sound like a good idea.

"I was a little bit nervous, but it was fun," said third-grader Brady Gorman. "I did it because me and my sister got lucky, and some other kids don't get lucky. They have cancer."
