February 26, 2014

Dear Parents,

So Mother Nature is not done with us yet, but this, too, shall pass.

Today I would like to address the student pickup and drop-off procedures.  We really must follow the rules as outlined in our Handbook to make sure everyone is safe during these times.

  1. For pickup of students in 5th-8th grade, NO ONE should park behind the cars that are parked diagonally on 54th Street.  This is dangerous and slows things down considerably.
  2. If there are no diagonal spots available on 54th Street, try the diagonal spots on Stone Avenue, or park farther down on 54th Street near the field.
  3. DO NOT drive around someone who is stopped in front of you (on either side of the building).  That is a recipe for disaster.
  4. Another thing we have noticed is that people are parking in the emergency spot in the back on 54th Street.  That is not a parking spot and should not be used as one.

Thank you for your immediate attention to these matters.  We do not want anyone to get hurt, so we need all of you to help us by following the correct procedures.

Sincerely,

Margaret M. Hayes

Principal

SPRING AUCTION AND GALA, SATURDAY, MARCH 8

Auction Classroom Projects

The students have been diligently working on their projects with Mr. Brazee for the St. Cletus Auction. From placing their mark on ceramics, making one-of-a-kind art pieces, and even putting together some class photos that will be cherished for years to come, our creative pre-school through eighth grade students have lots of great work to show at this year's Spring Auction. The kids are so proud and excited to have their work displayed for you to see.
We're also excited about the great parties and group outings you can sign up for at this year's Auction. From fishing in Canada to a trolley ride to Arlington Race Course, check out the flyer in this week's family envelope or visit the

Auction Website for more information.

Sponsorships and RSVP's are now due. Turn in your form today, try out our on-line option--RSVP/Get My Tickets--or go to the Auction website (click on the link above).

7th Grade Students Team Up with 3rd Grade Buddies

Last week, the students created pamphlets on the Holy Spirit with a partner. Then we went to see our 3rd grade buddies, and the 7th graders taught them about the Holy Spirit. The 7th graders acted as role models in guiding them to grow in their faith. After they discussed the Holy Spirit, everyone created a dove. The doves are hanging up as a sign of the Holy Spirit.

Wanted: Pictures for the Yearbook

The Yearbook Club is trying to gather some photos of the Erin Potts Tournament.  Please forward them to the school office in an envelope--Attention: Amy Doyle, Computer Lab.
