NOTES AND REMINDERS

FSA Meeting, Wednesday, January 15

Please join us for our January FSA meeting, which will be held next Wednesday, January 15, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 213 of the St. Cletus education building.  Look forward to seeing you there.

Graduation Photo Day This Friday

On Friday, January 10, 8th graders will have their graduation photos taken and be measured for their graduation gowns.

8th grade students may be out of uniform in accordance with the Handbook for a Dress-up Day.  Dress-up Days are more formal.  Boys are to wear a collared shirt, with a tie for pictures, and dress slacks.  Girls are to wear a dress, skirt & blouse, or a blouse with dress slacks.  A dress or blouse MUST have sleeves--sleeveless or strapless dresses are inappropriate for school/school functions.  On Dress-up Days, gym ghoes, sandals, flip flops or jeans (regardless of cost, designer or color) are NOT appropriate attire.  For Picture Day, clothing should be even-toned, with muted colors and no major designs, as clothing will show up better in pictures.  Boys' hair should be neat and clean at all times and may NOT touch the shirt collar or cover the ears.  For girls, make-up and nail polish are NOT permitted for photographs.

Caps and gowns will be provided for the pictures.  On Friday, students will be measured for their graduation gowns, so please have your child bring shoes comparable in height to what he/she will wear on graduation day to obtain the most accurate measurement.

Students may remain in Dress-up attire for the entire day; however, if they would like to change clothing after their photograph is taken, please send their school uniform to school.

Yearbook Sales Are Underway

Click HERE to complete the on-line order form. Yearbooks are $25.00; however, you do not need to pay right away. We just need a count of how many books to order.  Payment will be due before the yearbooks can be delivered, which will be sometime in May. You can send in cash or check (payable to "St. Cletus School") to the school office. E-mail Erich Kittlaus with any questions.

Cardinal Pursuit--Friday, January 17, at 7:30 p.m., Morrissey Hall

Cardinal Pursuit is our annual trivia night, hosted by the St. Cletus Athletic Association.  Participants are encouraged to form adult teams of 8-12 players to compete against other members of the St. Cletus community.  The cost is $10.00 per person, payable at the door.  Teams provide their own food and beverages.

ATHLETICS

Track and Field

Plans for the Track and Field season are underway.  At this time, we are sending a call-out for coaches.  We are in need of two 5th grade girls coaches. No special track experience is needed for these roles.  In addition, there is always a need for specialty coaches.  If you have some experience in any of our field or specialty events, please consider donating some of your time to the track team. These events include: long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, javelin, discus, and hurdles.  We have several returning coaches for these events but could use some additional help.

Please contact either Lukasz Majewski or one of the head coaches: Jeanne Kelly, Liz Valdes or Chuck Cranny, if you are interested.  The first track coaching meeting will be Wednesday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m.  In addition, the tentative meet schedule is posted on the Website.

We Need Your Fall Sports Photos

Cross country, football, basketball, and volleyball--send them to Sports Video. The pictures will be in publications for the school and the end-of-year sports video.

Coach Needed

The St. Cletus Athletic Association is looking for a 5th grade girls basketball coach.  The season starts in January and runs through early March.  If you are interested in helping out, please e-mail Chris Bourjaily.
