November 6, 2013

Dear School Parent,

Our new, on-line, parent-teacher conference scheduling has been working smoothly so far.  Families with more than one student are quickly signing up for their conferences.  Letters containing log-on information are going home today with students who do not have siblings attending St. Cletus School.  Remember, families who do not sign up on-line by November 21 will have their conferences scheduled for them.

The time has nearly arrived to begin re-enrollment for the 2014-15 school year.  Watch for details and instructions soon.

Our next FSA Dining for Dollars event is on November 11, 12, and 13 from

11:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m at Aurelio's Pizza in La Grange.  Look for the green flyer going home in today's family envelope.  It should be fun to plan a family night out for pizza!

Thanks to our pastor, Fr. Bob, you are receiving a CD today: "Raising Amazing Children," by Matthew Kelly.  Matthew is a well-renowned and inspiring speaker.  During this year of the "strong Catholic parent," Matthew offers us some advice and inspiration.

Sincerely,

Margaret Hayes

Principal

7th and 3rd Grade Service Project: Project Linus

Project Linus Mission: provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need, through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."

The seventh and third grade students will be paired up to create fleece blankets for children in need. We will be creating these together on December 12th.

We are asking seventh and third grade students to donate toward the cost of fleece in order to make the blankets. The students should EARN this money by doing housework, yard work, or anything else to serve others. The more everyone is able to donate, the more blankets we can make for the children. We are asking for each student to earn at least $5.00. Once the blankets are made, they will be delivered to a Chicago Linus Project Branch location.

If you would like help donate, please bring in donations by Tuesday, December 3, to your teacher.
