Dear School Parent,

Our Family Fall Fest was a booming success! We don't have all our expenses in yet; however, I am confident the result is a profit of over $20,000. Our goal was $17,000.

My sincere and deep gratitude go to Julie and Joe Butney and Jen and Mike McGuire. They worked endlessly to make it a fun day for the children, and it certainly was that, and more. It takes many volunteers and sponsorships to make these events successful. Thank you to the second grade parents (70% participation) and seventh grade parents (50% participation) for volunteering. Thanks to our parents from other grade levels, our faculty and staff, parish staff, and our upper grade students who also volunteered. I salute you all for sharing in our success.

I look forward to a year of successful events as we continue with the grade level fundraising/event plan. Thanks again! It's a great day to be a Cardinal!

Gratefully,

Jolene Hillgoth

Reminders

Dining for Dollars

Wondering what's for dinner? No problem! On Monday, October 21, take the night off and let Baker's Square handle that age-old question..."What's for dinner?" Head on over to Baker's Square on La Grange Road between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. to eat, socialize, and support St. Cletus. Come in for dinner and a slice of pie, or just stop in to say "hi" and pick up a whole pie for dessert at home!  A portion of all sales benefits St. Cletus School. NO FLYER IS REQUIRED.  We hope to see you there!

Junior Great Books

We are still looking for participants in 7th and 8th grade, especially now that the format has been changed to a lunch-time book club for these grades.  Instead of the Great Books text, Mrs. Delaney and Mrs. Petrak will choose a novel for junior high students, who will read two or three chapters at a time through the course of the school year.

Traditional Great Books volumes will be used for grades 3 through 6.  It's not too late to SIGN UP for the Great Books program.  Please register by October 11.

Questions? Please e-mail Mrs. Lynn Petrak, our Great Books Program Coordinator.

My Coke Rewards for Schools

Donate points to help St. Cletus School earn rewards we can really use, like athletic equipment and games. It doesn't take a lot of effort, but every time you've enjoyed one of the Coca-Cola products, you can make donations to St. Cletus School by turning in your bottle caps or product numbers to the school office. Last year Miss Pryor received 7200 in points, which translated into 6 scooters and two hockey nets.  So far this year we've earned 5600 points. Our goal is 10,000.00.

Brands include Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, DasaniPowerade, Minute Maid, Fanta, Barq's, Fresca, Pibb, Mello Yello, FUZE, Seagram's, and Tab.

Second Grade Service Project
The second grade class is collecting pop tabs throughout the school year to earn money to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.  Please send your pop tabs to Room 109 or 110 (second grade classrooms).

Box Tops for Education
We are participating in the Box Tops for Education Program this year.  Our goal is to raise over $2,000 to help the Family School Association.  Simply cut out the Box Tops on certain items and have your child bring them to his/her classroom.  Each month, the winning classroom (with the most Box Tops collected) will receive a special treat!  For a list of participating products, please click here: Box Tops for Education

Labels for Education
This year, our school will participate in the LabelsforEducation® program, in which we collect UPC's and beverage/sauce caps from participating products to earn points that will be redeemed for FREE educational merchandise!

Our goal this year is to collect 50,000 points.  It's easy to help--simply save UPC's and beverage/sauce caps and drop them off at St. Cletus.

Please send labels in to your child's classroom or the school office. To see a complete list of products and point values, please visit Labels for Education.
