The Melancholoy of Maintenance: How-To Guide

Let's just be honest: Maintenance isn't sexy. You work your butt off, quite literally, to reach your goals and you feel all amazing about it, only to discover you still have to work your butt off to stay there. It's equal parts discouraging and evil. While you were training hard you got to celebrate things like: The scale number dropping, non-scale victories, clothes fitting better, airplane seat belts fitting without using the extenders and friends, family and co-workers noticing how fit, healthy, and lovely you look.

“Do crunches and ab workouts get rid of belly fat?”

You can’t spot reduce fat. Not on your abs, buns, thighs, or any other place on your body that you want to transform. To tone up your problem areas you have to first reduce your overall body fat, which means
high-intensity training combined with clean eating and spot-specific exercises to condition the muscle under the fat.

Need a Lunch Break Pick-Me-Up? Come to Power Circuit Class!

Poise offers a year-round lunch hour circuit class every Monday and Wednesday from 12 – 1pm!
Here's what you get: 30 to 60 minutes (depending on the workout intensity and time you arrive) of circuit training mixed with cardio intervals to elevate your heart rate and burn fat while building strength and toning your muscles. Here's what you do: Notify Crystal that you'll be joining us by calling or emailing (contact info below). Show up anytime between 12 and 12:15pm (this way if your boss is making you run late, no worries!), and get your sweat on! Here's what you'll pay: $12 per class, or purchase an 8-session punch card for $86 (that's a $10 savings).

Water and towels are provided, just bring yourself
and be ready for a power workout!

Skype

 

Train with me from anywhere in the world and in the comfort of your own home/gym/hotel room! Skype is free to download and simple to use, all you need is a web cam. By eliminating the need for me to travel to you, Skype training sessions are a lower cost than typical off-site sessions.
You can also invite friends to join you as long as you each
have your own web cam. If you don't have any gym equipment,
no worries! Skype sessions can consist of custom workouts using your own body weight. All you have to do is turn on your computer and push your coffee table aside! For more info contact

Here's yet another one of my favorite green drinks for consuming in the morning. These typically give me energy to get through my morning workout and the assurance that I'll get my veggie quota in before dinnertime. I know you see kale and spinach and wince.
I know you have your doubts. But with the pear, banana and almond milk...it just works!
