The Best Workouts for When You’re Not Feeling Your Best

Ladies, this one’s for you! Many of my female clients tell me they wish their energy levels throughout the month were more reliable, because certainly not all days in the gym are created equal when it comes to our fluctuating hormone levels. You've probably found you could sail through a sweat session one day, only to slog through the same routine a week later. What gives? CLICK HERE to find out and what you should do.

Got A Question

Ask and it’ll get answered in this space next newsletter!

This week’s question:

“The heart-rate monitor on the elliptical machine says that I’m over my 80% cardio zone.
Is that bad?”

Probably not. You get the most cardio benefits when exercising at an intensity that keeps you in your target zone – at about 70 to 80 percent of your max heart rate – but there's not much danger in being 10 beats per minute or so over. Keep in mind, though, that the handgrips on ellipticals used to take pulse readings are notoriously inaccurate.
If you're interested in zone training, I suggest buying a heart-rate monitor with a chest strap for the most reliable reading.
