Earn free registration and travel to NLC

Chapters are invited to apply to present a 50-minute session at NLC on Saturday, Nov. 1. Topics could include a unique and/or successful event or fundraiser your chapter organized, how you launched a website or newsletter, leadership training ideas or advice to share with other dental students.

ASDA will select two chapters to each present a session at NLC. ASDA will cover NLC registration and travel for one speaker for each session (up to two people can present the session together).

Applications are due Aug. 18 and must include: a session submission form and a 2-3 minute video of the potential speaker(s) explaining the session or presenting a portion of the session.

ASDA membership drive shipments begin in July

Chapter leaders should have completed a survey from ASDA to choose the dates and materials for the 2015 membership drive for new students. Included in the shipment are brochures and "Getting Through Dental School" handbooks for your members. If you didn't receive a survey, contact to Erin@ASDAnet.org to receive your materials.

As new first-year students start school and your chapter gears up for the year, use the tools provided in the on-boarding program. This toolkit provides a checklist of activities for chapters to do throughout the first semester. For the month of August and September, there are templates and resources for your membership drive, chapter leadership opportunities and communications from ASDA.

Membership FAQs

When can I renew my ASDA/ADA membership for next year?

ASDA and ADA's membership runs on a calendar year so your current membership will expire Dec. 31, 2014. Beginning in September 2014, you can renew your membership for the 2015 year. This is also the date that you can begin remitting dues for your incoming first-year students through the online chapter portal. The 2015 dues will be $80/year for joint membership in ASDA and ADA.

When you renew your membership, either with your chapter or online, be sure to update your contact information with ASDA so you continue to receive your benefits (see below for instructions on updating your address).
