A look inside
Annual
Session

Next week, nearly 480 ASDA members from 61 U.S. dental schools will be heading to Atlanta for Annual Session. This marks the fourth consecutive year of record-breaking attendance and my sixth Annual Session on staff at ASDA. It's gratifying and exciting to have such a positive response from our members.

Annual Session is the official meeting of The House of Delegates. The House is ASDA's governing body and includes two voting delegates from each chapter who come together to elect national leaders and impact association policy.

Outside of House meetings, attendees get to network and experience educational sessions. Staff and the Council on Sessions keep the event fresh by adding new events each year. In the time I've been with ASDA we've added the first-time attendee orientation session, invited motivational keynote speakers from outside the dental world, instituted the Gold Crown Awards Ceremony and launched a free mobile app which has everything you need to know about the meeting.

Even if you are not attending, it's important to know what your peers are doing at Annual Session on your behalf. They will represent your chapter's interests at the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to share what they learn in Atlanta with their chapter.

I have been an association meetings professional for many years and the excitement of seeing all my work come together never ceases. ASDA fever is contagious not only to members, but your staff, too!

Words of wisdom: Life-long learning is a necessity, not just a catch phrase for educators.
