Recruit predentals to earn cash for your chapter

The top three chapters who recruit the most predentals will receive $250 for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place. This incentive will be based on predentals recruited from Sept. 10, 2012 through Feb. 28, 2013 for the 2013 membership cycle. In order for chapters to earn credit for their recruitment efforts, the predental students must select the chapter when completing the online application. For more information or predental recruitment resources, contact Erin Kato, member relations specialist, at Erin@ASDAnet.org .

Earn money for your chapter and support ADA membership for new graduates

The 2013 ADA Conversion Drive will begin in January. Your chapter can earn up to $500 by helping fourth-year students transition to ADA membership as dentists.

Distribute the Where Are You Going? forms (included in your forthcoming Conversion Drive kit) to all fourth-year students and return the completed forms to the ADA by April 1. The Where Are You Going? form is the first step in transitioning to ADA membership after graduation-it allows the ADA to send new graduates the appropriate membership application. Direct all questions about the conversion drive to the ADA Office of Student Affairs at studentaffairs@ada.org or 800-621-8099 ext 7470.

Promote Annual Session at your school

Spread the word about Annual Session at your school! Post black and white or color fliers on bulletin boards or at events, and add a banner to your website or Facebook page. For the full promo toolkit, visit www.ASDAnet.org/AnnualSession. Remember to register your chapter attendees by Dec. 20 to save $25 per person.

Resolution-writing resources & process

A resolution is a formal request or action that is presented to the House of Delegates for consideration (here's an example). Resolutions aim to improve, streamline, clarify, update or otherwise revise existing ASDA policy or operations. If you or someone from your chapter has an idea for a resolution to put to House vote at Annual Session 2013, contact your trustee or e-mail Speaker of the House Jiwon Lee for assistance soon. Resolutions submitted by Jan. 15 will be reviewed by the board of trustees at their Jan. 19-20 board meeting. Submitting by this deadline gives you a unique opportunity to collaborate with national leaders who know ASDA policy best. After board review, you may be contacted with suggestions to improve your submission before it goes to the House in March. Resolutions received after Jan. 15 will be assigned to a reference committee onsite at Annual Session as is.

For resolution-writing resources and a list of existing resolutions, click here. Important: it's essential that you review existing resolutions so you are not submitting a similar or duplicate resolution. Resolutions can have one or more authors and it is highly encouraged that at least one author attends Annual Session to advocate for that resolution.

Membership FAQ

How do I login to ASDA's website?
To login to ASDA's website, go to www.ASDAnet.org and use your last name as your user name and ASDA number as your password.

What is my ASDA number and how do I obtain this number?

Every dental student is assigned a number by the ADA after they receive an official enrollment list from your school. This number does not change and is your ADA number throughout your career in dentistry. ASDA and ADA use this number as a unique identifier for each member. This number is included in your record in both ASDA and ADA's systems. You will receive your membership number and benefits booklet 4-6 weeks after joining ASDA. ADA will mail a membership card after January. If you misplace your number, you can contact ASDA at 800-621-8099, ext. 2795 or Membership@ASDAnet.org
