American Student Dental Association

e-newsletter for members of the American Student Dental Association
 November 2012

Thanksgiving is a time to remember friends, family and all of those who hold a special place in our hearts. It's also a time to celebrate the little things that keep us lifted throughout the year. Here are our fist pump moments:

Danielle Bauer, director of membership: Although my commute to ASDA each day includes a car, train and bus and takes over an hour, I am thankful for the interesting people I have come to know through my travels. It makes the commute so much more tolerable!

Linda Cooper, meetings manager: I'm thankful to live in such a vibrant, exciting city and that I have a birds-eye view of the '
greening' of the Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day.

Nancy Honeycutt, executive director:
I am thankful that my foot surgery is over and I am on the way to recovery so I can take Argentine tango dance lessons.

Erin Kato, member relations specialist: I'm thankful for the imminent expiration of ASDA's database and excited for the implementation of our new system. My remittance processors will understand!

Meghan Keelean, program manager: I'm thankful for the group fitness instructors at the gym who I can always count on to motivate me during a hard class when I'm too lazy or tired to motivate myself.

Bart Lewin, sales and marketing manager: I'm thankful that I have almost completely recuperated from my Achilles tendon tear in 2011.

Andrew Maron, website editor: I am thankful that the NBA is not on strike this year. Da BULLS!

Kris Okoskey, executive assistant: I'm thankful that when my husband has a few extra minutes in the morning before he leaves for work he'll surprise me with a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.

Rachel Patino, administrative assistant: I'm thankful for bacon. There are few things better than to start your day with some fried eggs and a healthy portion of bacon :)

Kimberly Schneider, communications editor: As the days grow shorter and colder, I find myself waking up and leaving for work while it's still dark outside. I'm thankful that my bus route follows Chicago's Lake Shore Drive and I get to watch the sun rise over Lake Michigan on those cold winter mornings!

Andrew Smith, governance and advocacy manager: Although I'm experiencing serious election-season withdrawal, I am thankful the 2016 Iowa Caucuses are only 37 months away! And I'm thankful for tryptophan-laced turkey.

Cheryl Wilson, communications manager: I'm thankful that Skype let's me visit with my 1- and 3-year-old nephews who live in Cleveland. Even if it's just for a few minutes, it makes my day to watch them play and hear their voices.

Angie Wines, office manager: I'm thankful for the change of seasons. Just last week, I put my winter jacket on and discovered two rebate checks that expire in 2013!
