Next Phase of the Proposed Illinois Route 53/120 Project Advances
Efforts to establish a more detailed understanding of how to fund, build, operate and maintain the proposed Route 53/120 into Lake County are moving forward. The Illinois Route 53/120 Project Blue Ribbon Advisory Council (BRAC) met recently to discuss the next phase, which specifically includes a two-pronged effort to examine the feasibility of the project with respect to financing and land use. The next phase of work builds on the BRAC's report that recommends a four-lane, 45 mph, tolled parkway that will address specific needs for congestion relief and provide greater connectivity, as well as protect the natural environment and preserve the character of Lake County.

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project
If you are a Lake County Public Works customer, you have recently received information about the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. Lake County Public Works has hired National Power Rodding to clean and televise the sanitary sewers in your neighborhood. This is the first step in our sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. During the sewer cleaning process, high pressure water is sprayed through the public sewers. As a precaution, please keep your toilet seats down during the day while this work takes place and report any problems to our project manager Heather Galan at 847 377 7500.

This Map indicates the area of work. Further notifications will be made as this project continues.
Juror Appreciation Week
Have you ever served on jury duty? If so, we appreciate you! Every year, approximately 8,500 Lake County residents report for jury duty in Lake County. In order to show our appreciation to the many individuals who have served on jury duty, the Lake County Board and the 19th Judicial Circuit Judges will celebrate Juror Appreciation Week from Oct. 15-18. We understand that jurors sacrifice personal, family and professional time when serving and we thank you for this important service you provide to the criminal justice system.

Baxter Partners with the Lake County Forest Preserve for Trail Connections
The Lake County Forest Preserve and Baxter have worked together to make important connections along the Millennium Trail. Once completed, the Millennium Trail will connect more than 35 miles of trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding for Lake County residents to enjoy. Baxter's contributions, through land sales and easement permissions, will ensure the trail is built without obstruction. By linking residential areas to parks, forest preserves, schools, businesses and shopping districts, trails allow people to alter their travel behavior by bicycling or hiking to their destination instead of driving.
