Lake County Local Governments Eligible for Reimbursement from April Flood
FEMA to Help Residents and Businesses
with Disaster Assistance Registration

The State recently announced that Lake County is one of 24 counties eligible for Public Assistance as part of the federal disaster declaration for the severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding that occurred April 16 through May 5. Under this program, local governments-municipalities, schools, townships, park districts, the county, other taxing entities-as well as certain not-for-profit organizations may be reimbursed for eligible expenses, including excess expenditures incurred, and uninsured losses.
Residents and businesses that suffered losses from the April-May storms and flooding may be eligible for Individual Assistance from FEMA, including grants, loans, and other programs. FEMA representatives will be at the lower level of the Grant Township Center, near Fox Lake, this Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., to answer questions about Individual Assistance programs and to help people with the disaster assistance application process. The Grant Township Center is located at 26725 West Molidor Road, Ingleside, IL 60041.The deadline to register for individual assistance is July 9. To register:
