It's All About Gratitude
RENOVATIONS
After 30 years of serving the LGBT recovery community, this week the Castro Country Club will begin the first phase of a badly-needed facelift. After all, the building is 112 years old, so maybe it's time, right?

On behalf of the Club's advisory board, staff and volunteers, thank you thank you thank you to all whose donations to our building fund, moral support, and patronage of the Club over the last few years have made this project possible.

Renovation is actually well underway, as our new landlord's contractors have been busy at work retrofitting the foundation, providing new plumbing, gas and electrical lines, and building out a beautiful new restaurant space in the former garage. They're also preparing a new back deck for us on the restaurant's rooftop.

EXCUSE OUR DUST
Work on the actual Club space begins Thanksgiving week, but we will be closed for only two days: Tuesday the 26th and Wednesday the 27th. All groups that meet at the Club on those days are offered a small meeting space just a short walk up the street
at the Stonewall Castro offices at 4200 18th St Suite 203 (at Collingwood).

The Club cafe' area will reopen on Thanksgiving at 7am, and we will host marathon meetings all day (see schedule below).

The front room will be closed for renovation for the next couple weeks and all groups are asked to meet in the cafe' room. It's small, but it's all we have right now.

When the dividing wall has been removed and other repairs are made, the front room will reopen for regular meetings and fellowship. A schedule of hours will be posted. The cafe' will be closed until the remodel is complete. The restroom will also be inaccessible during this period, so please plan accordingly.

SELF-SUPPORTING
Our goal is to reopen the entire Club in February with a brand new look, a cleaner and safer space for step work and fellowship, and tasty new eats and drinks. We hope that the remodel and new business plan will allow the Club to become fully self-supporting with revenue from cafe' sales, meeting room rentals and donations.

We wish to thank you - our fellow recovering patrons and volunteers - for your patience and understanding as this project continues.

But now we need to ask for more support.

Over the next few months, the Club will lose its biggest source of revenue with the temporary closure of the cafe'.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation in any amount to help us bridge the gap and pay the bills while work is underway. Easy monthly payments are gratefully accepted, and for a limited time, we are offering lovely gift packages to donors at various levels. For information, click here:
