See our website to learn more about the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive Program and how you can join other local businesses in putting a portion of your state B&O taxes to work right here in Port Townsend! Businesses receive a 75% tax credit on their 2017 state B&O taxes, and can potentially write off the full amount of the contribution on their federal taxes in 2016 (check with your accountant). Contributions must be received by December 31st, 2016 to be eligible for the tax credits in 2017. Check the Main Street website for information on this innovative program. Contributions are mailed to the Port Townsend Main Street Program, 211 Taylor Street, #3, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Please contact our office (360)385-7911 or email us with any questions. To participate:
EACH YEAR, BUSINESSES MUST SIGN UP AGAIN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TAX INCENTIVE PROGRAM.
NAME IT AND CLAIM IT FOR PORT TOWNSEND in 2016!
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE 4 EASY STEPS IN THIS SEQUENCE:
1. Go to Washington State Department of Revenue site and on the right side of the page, click Main Street Tax Credit, and get started.
3. Select The Port Townsend Main Street Program as the recipient and enter your contribution amount.
4. Write a check in the amount of your contribution to The Port Townsend Main Street Program. All checks must be received no later than December 31st, 2016.
Part of your contribution may qualify as a 501c3 charitable deduction on your 2016 Federal tax and the entire amount may be tax deductible--please check with your accountant.
