RING IN THE HOLIDAYS IN PORT TOWNSEND - "Look Here First!" for holiday experiences; from shopping and dining to magical events, Port Townsend is packed with holiday fun this season. There are thousands of gifts right here in our historic seaport and arts community. When you buy locally, it gives back to our economy, which is a gift to our community. Individually-owned businesses offer the personal touch and are a welcome contrast to anonymous malls. Gifts from our destination stores, Port Townsend restaurant gift certificates, movie passes, theatre tickets, and local artwork are examples of thoughtful gifts your loved ones will remember long after the holidays.

Summer House Design is seeking a small retail business to share their space. They are looking for a compatible small business that could sublet between 300-500 square feet of the shop floor space. Sublease would include electricity, heat, access to common areas, and wireless access. Window display space would be shared on a percentage basis. This is a great opportunity for a start up or a small group of entrepreneurs to get a shop space on Water Street, with the advantage of a great location and existing traffic to a well-established downtown business. The business must have all required business licensing and their own commercial liability insurance, and be willing to staff their own space. Business finances and merchant services would be completely independent. (This is not a partnership, co-op or a consignment situation.) They are hoping to have someone ready to set up by the end of January, with a deadline of March 1, 2016.

Check out local and Fort Worden-themed toys, puzzles, games, T-shirts and books. How about adopting one of their easy care pets or purchase a Discover Pass as a stocking stuffer?

HOLIDAY FUN IN UPTOWN -- It's time for a favorite community event--the 23rd annual Aldrich's Gingerbread House contest in Uptown! Entries are accepted Dec. 18th through Jan. 4th. Entry forms are available at Aldrich's. The awards ceremony is Saturday, January 9th at 1 pm.

The Tax Incentive Cap was met May 1, 2015! Thank you to everyone who pledged early this year! Please send in your check to the Port Townsend Main Street Program office by December 31st, 2015 to be eligible for your tax credits. We will be in contact soon about 2016 pledges.
