I came on to the Main Street Board in 2014, and now serve as Vice-President and as a member of the Main Street Economics Committee. I have three businesses (Sirens Pub, Alchemy Bistro & Wine Bar, and just opened The Old Whiskey Mill), serve on City Council and am active in the nonprofit world of Port Townsend. I have a passion for our community and I love being involved!
Things are heating up for August! Sunny weather and great music have brought big crowds to Main Street's Concerts on the Dock--it's hard to believe there are only three shows left--August 6, 13, and 20th.
Also coming UP, the Uptown Street Fair, Aug. 15th and we are celebrating Main Street's 30th Anniversary with the Family Portrait and 30th Party August 30th! We are setting up 50 tables & 400 chairs, there's a beer/wine garden, and Toolshed Trio is playing. I have been involved in the Main Street Parking survey, which we sent out in December, 2014. We encourage you to fill out it out AGAIN, during busy August. TICKETS ON SALE NOW!!
The Port Townsend Family Portrait - Town Photo 5 pm
Port Townsend In Color! Dress to Impress! Gather at Washington & Taylor Streets Downtown at 4:45 pm; the photo will be taken promptly at 5 pm by David Conklin.
Family Portrait posters will be printed on Monday, August 31 and available at Printery Communications, 631 Tyler St. for $10. Details at ptmainstreet.org
Followed by the "Celebrate Main Street" 30th Anniversary Party! Picnic on Taylor Street 5:30-7:30 pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring or buy picnic meals to the event. Main Street will provide communal tables, chairs, live music, wine/beer garden and decorations. Tickets are $10 per person and includes dessert, drink of your choice and reserves you a seat at the table! The event is modeled on dinners in the street that take place around the world called "Diner en Blanc" --but colorful attire is encouraged in Port Townsend! We will set up the street to accommodate approximately 400 guests.
We are encouraging restaurants to make "to go" meals for people who want to grab a meal for pick-up.
