Admission is by donation: suggested $5 per person, $10 for a family. Get your pass early at the museum or during the event in the City Hall lobby. All the fun is in and around Port Townsend's historic City Hall at 540 Water Street.
There will be musical performances, call dancing, a hands-on history game, film shorts presented by the Port Townsend Film Institute, children's games conducted by the Port Townsend High School Interact Club, storytelling and theatrical presentations by the Key City Public Theatre, a puppet show, a hands-on art project at the Jefferson Community School, music at Elevated Ice Cream and DJ dancing at the Boiler Room.
At 9:00 p.m. (midnight in New York) Port Townsend will get a head start on the rest of the West Coast and usher in 2015 by raising an illuminated anchor created by sculptor Thaddeus Jurczynski. This will be followed by an explosion of brilliant fireworks provided by Dr. David Chuljian, launched from Memorial Field.
Event proceeds benefit Historical Society programs. Admission passes are available at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History in historic City Hall, 540 Water Street. All pass-holders receive a raffle ticket for $100 gift certificates from the Museum Shop. The raffle will take place at 8:50pm just prior to the anchor raising.
