Santa Shops Here local shopping promotion continues! Customers have been having fun shopping in town, then claiming their gift certificates, which could also in turn, make great gifts! There are still plenty of gift certificates available. For every $500 spent at the participating businesses starting Nov. 28th, 2014, customers may pick a $25 Gift Certificate from the wall of gift certificates at the Main Street office while they last! Save your receipts, proof of purchase required and only dollars spent at participating businesses qualify towards the $500. First come, first served while quantities last, some restrictions apply. To claim your gift certificate, please call the Port Townsend Main Street office, 211 Taylor St. Suite 3, (360) 385-7911. Main Street Ornaments featuring the Kiwanis Choo Choo are on sale now--they make a great last minute gift and are a perfect stocking stuffer! Thanks to local merchant Frank Iuro/PT Shirt Company for his design work. The ornaments are a fundraiser for our 501c3 nonprofit Port Townsend Main Street Program. Thanks!

1-4 pm Kiwanis Choo Choo rides for kids (proceeds benefit art and music programs in the the PT School District). The Port Townsend Main Street Program is pleased to work with Kiwanis on the holiday Choo Choo rides! Meet across from the Jefferson Museum of Art and History. $5 per person suggested donation. Special thanks to the great Kiwanis crew, PT Police volunteers and event helpers! 

Holiday Open Parlor 1-3 pm featuring Blue Gull InnHuber's InnCommander's Beach HouseBishop Victorian Hotel. Coordinated by Olympic Peninsula Steam, tickets $15 at vicfest.org.

Ring in the new year with the Jefferson Museum of Art and History which coordinates this all-ages, alcohol-free event featuring live music and children's activities. Admission by donation: suggested $5 per person, $10 for a family. 

NEWS AROUND THE BLOCK!   

 

175 guests attended the Yuletide event at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History Dec. 13th and nearly 100 rode the Kiwanis Choo Choo--a very fun day! Thanks to Olympic Peninsula Steam volunteers who provided much merriment and many photo opps, the Museum staff, Kiwanis train crew and Main Street volunteers! 
 

 

Still have wrapping to do? Wrap up your gifts at Uptown Nutrition. Any gift, purchased anywhere in Jefferson County - come on in and use their wrapping station, complete with historic Port Townsend Paper Mill gift wrap. It's free! Located at the back of the store. They have boxes too. Thank you Uptown Nutrition! 

 

 

HOLIDAY FUN IN UPTOWN

It's time for a favorite community event--the annual Aldrich's Market Gingerbread House contest in Uptown! Entries are accepted through December 27th. Entry forms available at Aldrich's. The awards ceremony is Sunday, December 28th at 2:30 pm.

 

 

Ground to Perfection Espresso is now open. Goodies baked in-house daily, coffee, espresso and much more. Located at 1117 Water St. (next to Quimper Mercantile). Welcome back!

STATE-WIDE MAIN STREET TAX INCENTIVE CAP REACHED 12/3/14.

 The Port Townsend Main Street Program is pleased to offer the opportunity to put your state B&O tax dollars to work here Port Townsend through the work of our program.

If you made a pledge to PTMS before December 3, 2014 and send your check to the Port Townsend Main Street Program by 12/31/14: 75% of your donation is returned to you via B&O tax credits in 2015. In addition, your entire contribution may qualify as a 501(c)(3) charitable deduction on your 2014 federal income tax return.
In 2014, $1.5 million in tax credits is available statewide. The Port Townsend Main Street Program can receive up to $133,333 in contributions. Approvals are given each year on a first-come, first-served basis as of January 1.
The Port Townsend Main Street Program invites you to put your state B&O tax dollars to work here in our community and simultaneously
