Oct. 16, The Great Washington Shakeout Drill at 10:16AM. The tsunami sirens will go off for a full three minutes in hopes that will remind people to practice DROP, COVER and HOLD ON in the event of an earthquake. Additional information can be found here where participating individuals can register for this drill if they wish. The site is a good source of additional information for people of all ages.

It also provides an opportunity for tourism-related business people to network, meet face-to-face and discuss industry issues and opportunities.
Oct. 24 at 7 pm, KPTZ Fall Fling. Friday night fun! Dance the night away with local band, Floating Otis, at the American Legion. All ages show. Beer and Wine Garden, snacks, plus a silent auction. Tickets are $10 and available at The Food Co-Op, Quimper Sound and at the door. The Fall Fund Drive follows 10/27 to 11/1. Thanks for supporting community radio!

This event is for K-6th Graders, accompanied by parents. Gather at Bank of American clock at 3:45 pm. Parade starts at 4pm, followed by trick or treating at many downtown businesses.
PLEASE NOTE: For public safety, Water Street is closed to traffic from 3:15-5:30 pm. Thanks to our generous merchants, the Police Volunteers and our Main Street volunteers who help with this very popular event!

PT Main Street Program is hard at work planning the Holiday Promotion with community partners-- Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, LTAC, Key City Public Theatre, Olympic Peninsula Steam and the Chamber of Commerce. There will be expanded special events, the Main Street "Santa Shops Here" promotion, and the Kiwanis Choo Choo train on "Sleighbell Saturdays". Check our website soon for more details. The Washington Trust is holding its board of directors meeting in Port Townsend this week. Port Townsend Main Street Program Executive Director Mari Mullen has arranged a walking tour for these guests, which includes an inside peak at some of our landmark historic buildings.
Wandering Angus: Celtic Traders has news! They are moving into a larger space formerly occupied by William's Gallery in the historic Mount Baker Block Building. (The Main Street Program is also in the Mount Baker Block so we are lucky to be neighbors!) We look forward to seeing the new store once you are all moved in.
