"Solstice Shop Stroll"
to kick off Shop Til Seven Fridays & Saturdays!
The American Furniture Society Conference will take place at Fort Worden June 19-21. We are inviting historic district merchants to stay open til 7 pm on June 20th to encourage conference participants to come into town, shop, eat and experience just how fabulous Port Townsend is! This is the kick-off for staying open later on Fridays and Saturdays this summer til 7pm.
The following businesses have already signed up to stay open til 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays this summer. Don't see your name and want to participate? Please e-mail admin@ptmainstreet.org by May 20th to sign up!

MAY EVENTS:
"Art Wave" continues in May-- a colorful exhibit of student art in 44 stores Uptown and Downtown. The art was created by K-12 graders in the Port Townsend School District. Don't forget you can make a donation to the donation jars or buy a Daily Bird from Daily Bird Pottery to help fund the arts in the schools program--thanks!
May 16, Kiwanis Club Annual Fish Fry, 4-7 pm at the American Legion Hall, it's a Rhody tradition!
May 18, Jefferson Clemente Course Lecture Series featuring Jonathan White -- Tides: The Ocean's Dance with the Moon at Key City Public Theatre, 3 PM.
May 24, Boating Skills Intensives at the Northwest Maritime Center. Intensive day-long classes in a variety of maritime skills.
May 26 - Memorial Day, Thank You to all who served for our Country!
May 31, Centrum kicks off its 2014 Summer Season with a special one-night-only event for families in celebration of Centrum's youth programs and the 10th anniversary of NANDA, Port Townsend's, Acrobaticalist Ninja Theatre Troupe.

Sarah Hansen of the Washington State Main Street Program names the winners

Port Townsend Main Street board member Paul Rice and Executive Director Mari Mullen just returned from the Revitalize Washington Conference in Wenatchee which drew 200+ guests from around the state. Port Townsend was honored with two "Excellence on Main Awards." Congratulations to Rocky Friedman, Alison Hero and David Hero for winning the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award for The Starlight Room. And congratulations to the Eisenbeis Building owners Michelle Sandoval and Kirk Lanterman for winning a "Visual Impact" award! The nominations were submitted by the Port Townsend Main Street Program.
More kudos...Bon Appetit at Fort Worden will be awarded the 2013 Outstanding Achievement Award for exemplary food safety practices from the Jefferson County Board of Health. Congrats!

Joglo is a 4,500 sf gallery and showroom of distinctive Indonesian art, antiques, furnishings, textiles and garden elements on two levels.
In Indonesia, the Joglo is a traditional Javanese house identified by its distinctive structure and roof design. It is a gathering place, offering protection, yet open to the outdoors. It is a symbol of Indonesian hospitality that is a gift both intimate and all embracing. For this reason, the joglo has been referred to as the architectural equivalent of the banyan tree and the sacred mountain. It represents the common spirit that unites the over six thousand inhabited islands of the archipelago.
