Merchant Spotlight!
Lois first came to town on August 20th, 1976 and decided to stay here forever. She left a few times to finish her education in the arts and always knew she wanted to have a shop and gallery here in town. "My work was exhibited here at The People's Guild in the old Flagship landing building right after the space had been Safeway, in 1976. I have been exhibiting and selling in town ever since," says Lois. In 1992, she decided to get in "off the streets" and stop doing outdoor craft shows. She searched for a space that she could share and ended up with the wonderful Gary and Jack, at Great Expectations in the Lewis Building. After two years in that space she moved to the James & Hastings Building where she is in her 22nd year of owning the shop. "Currently I have Wynwoods Gallery & Bead Studio, Diva Yarn, Embellishments and The 940 Gallery, all located in the same building. I have a classroom upstairs that I teach and craft in. I also have two websites, an etsy account, three blogs and assorted other social media sites. I design, fabricate and cast a line of charms and jewelry components. I paint, draw, sew, silversmith and make all manner of jewelry. All I have ever wanted to do was make things and sell things! I love working in my shops and in particular get a real sense of fulfillment from being with the public. It has always given me a great sense of accomplishment to be able to employ others too," says Lois. Lois also travels in the U.S. and abroad for her shop and continues to do trade shows around the country. Stop in and see what her creative shops have to offer. Lois is a Port Townsend Main Street Program member, thanks Lois!
