PORT TOWNSEND EARTH DAY SPRING CLEAN-UP

Volunteers needed for Spring Clean-Up! Main Street is seeking volunteers to help beautify Port Townsend for EARTH DAY 2014. We will be meeting downtown at Adams Street Park (next to Nifty Fifties) on Saturday, April 19th at 9:00 am.
Projects include:
- Treewells -tidy up
- Adams Street Park and corner gardens prep
- Street litter pickup (cigarette butts)
- Uptown streetscape weeding
- We will work with the Boiler Room on the streetscape and Labor Leaders to paint Tyler Street staircase.
- Please bring work gloves and hand tools.

We encourage merchants to tidy up in front of stores, plant your planters, and paint/spiff up storefronts.
Main Street Hanging Flower Basket Maintenance Program
It's time to beautify the streets of Port Townsend with colorful hanging flower baskets! The flower baskets add so much to the beauty of our town, thank you to everyone who purchase baskets.
The baskets are ordered through Henery's Garden Center, they will be sending order forms to businesses that have ordered baskets in the past. If you are interested in ordering baskets, please call 385-3354 or email henerysgardencenter@olypen.com and they will send you an order form.
The Port Townsend Main Street Program hires an independent gardening assistant to make sure the baskets will receive top care and attention for the entire season, 21 weeks! This includes securing the baskets to discourage theft, watering, fertilizing and maintaining the flowers. We offer this maintenance option to those business owners who find it easier to use an outside service for the season. Last year we cared for 120 hanging baskets which added color all over town.
The maintenance price is for the season, 21 weeks, from May 15-September 30.
