Greetings!   

 

This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent and the start of a new Church Year, an important time of preparation and anticipation.                                                                                         

The Sisters have scheduled two events in December which we hope will help you to begin your own personal Advent preparation.
 

Sunday, December 2 - A Service of Advent Lessons and Carols at 4:00 pm in the Chapel on Harden Hill Road in Duxbury. Advent Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture Readings, Hymns, and Carols appropriate for the season of Advent. Reception following. Please  RSVP for this event - email us at RSVP@ssmbos.org or call us at 781-934-9477.

 

Saturday, December 15 - An Advent Day of Prayer on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. The theme of the day will be the Great "O" Antiphons which are used to frame the singing of the Magnificat at Vespers during the seven days prior to Christmas, and it will be led by Sister Adele Marie and Sister Carolyn.  Registration & coffee will be available at 9 am in the Bertram Conference Center, 21 Harden Hill Road. Cost for the day $45 including lunch. To register by email RSVP@ssmbos.org or telephone 781-934-9477.

Still looking for unique Christmas gifts for everyone on your list? We have a large selection of Christmas ornaments and crèche sets that were handmade in Haiti, as well as original oil paintings in several sizes by Sr. Marjorie Raphael. These will be available for purchase at the Bertram Conference Center, 21 Harden Hill Road,  after the Advent Lessons and Carols service, after the Advent Day of Prayer, and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 8. If you can't make it any of those dates, give us a call at 781-934-9477 and we'll make an appointment with you!
