Clary Announces Retirement from AgriLife
Greg Clary retired from his position as Economist - Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, Texas AgriLife Extension Service at the end of March, 2013.  He is now the Executive Director for TCRE where he will develop, market and implement programs and workshops.  He is also a partner in The Matrix Assessment Group, LLC (www.tmagtx.com).
Latest on the Texas Leadership Institute (TLI)

TCRE assumed TLI several years ago with considerable optimism following results of market surveys which showed considerable interest among past and future participants. However after several years offering regional workshops the numbers indicated that TLI was not sustainable.  Some workshops were very popular, were well attended and covered all costs.  Unfortunately far too many had to be cancelled due to insufficient attendance.  Overall TLI was not able to cover even the limited overhead required for its operation.

However, the report is not all bad news.  All the workshops that were conducted received rave reviews.  These successful programs now comprise many of the critical elements have been integrated into our Achieving Excellence in Your Community program (see below).

We thank all of those that continued to ask about and to support TLI.  It served Texas well for many years and serves as the basis for some very valuable programs that will serve rural communities and businesses well into the future.
Achieving Excellence in Your Community program

(LINK TO DIAGRAM AND PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS)

A series of workshops, development tools and best practices are integrated into a comprehensive program that is designed to put communities on their self-designed path towards excellence and sustainability.  Click on each item in the diagram and find out more details.  Contact us if you are interested in any of these programs.  You will be learning more about how each of these programs help you achieve excellence in subsequent emails.

The main mission of TCRE is to nurture business ventures by linking them with resources and technical assistance that will enable both businesses and communities to succeed, create jobs and wealth.

Experience and discussions with our clients have shown us that entrepreneurs will not be successful unless they have vibrant communities and local economies in which to operate.  This has led us to take a more integrated comprehensive approach to engaging entrepreneurs as an economic development strategy.  The reaction to our latest approach is being received with much optimism and enthusiasm.  Our clients tell us we are on the right track!

TCRE has considerable value to offer communities and businesses across Texas and the U.S.  However, our work is far from done.  Continued development and refinement of processes, operations and methods is the order of the day.  We hope you will join in the journey and become engaged with us through a variety of news outlets and social media sites.

Sincerely,

Greg Clary
Executive Director
